Not big on betting coin flips which happens for most playoff games and superbowl.

But I will bet a 2 teamer, moneyline parlay.....Indy /saints

Kc feasted on bad teams..dont trust them to beat a good team on the road.
NO- top passing offense against one of the worst passing defenses.
top veteran QB vs a young QB who under pressure last week looked shakey.

I thnk cincy will win but not gonna guess if 6 or 7 is a good number...mL is fine.

I think SF can loose although I would be leaning to betting them. On paper they are better. But the servere cold....I dont trust outcomes under those conditions.

Kapernick has experience playing in the cold in nevada....in fact one of his best college games was winning against Boise....in 20 degrees. But as it approaches below zero in GB.....in my opinion thats a significant difference. I hear at that temp the balls are rock hard and slippery even if it is dry conditions.....I expect turnovers.....but who recovers them is not something I cant bet on. I will pass on this game.

The balls are horrible to handle at 0F, I've heard as well. Apparently it was a factor in the PHI vs. DET snow game, not just the snow piles on the pitch.

I do think if the Niners pass this test, we get a very interesting SF/SEA NFC finale.

You may be right about SF. The Denver at NE game 2 months ago had the hone team NE losing the ball I think 3 times in the first half. It was cold, and you would think NE could deal with the cold and slippery balls. They won in the end....but like I said....I wont bet on turnovers. Either team can have a bunch.

another reason the superbowl this year might be unbetable for me

Just looked at weather...unbelievable....minus 9 with a minus 30 wind chill

15 mile/hr wind

Maybe the under might be a play

I dont see long field goal being tried...in the dense cold air, with a rock hard ball

So maybe alot of punts.....trying to win field position battles

46 seems high

still not sold out....the locals even thinks its too severe.

I'm sure there was one year a holder and long snapper practiced in the shower to get used to deal with cold, wet balls.

Can't recall where that story is from, so might have imagined it.

even if you freeze balls in a big freezer, and have the QB throw them to receivers in practice...you cant practice catching a ball with swollen numb fingers. Even if u wear gloves....there will be no feeling in the fingers, frostbite, hard to bend finger

I wont even claim that GB players have an advantage in these conditions..

But weather like this in my opinion does help even things out.....its an advantage to the weaker team

If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

Curious why, both here and on other national websites, there is no mention of the balls being heated, warmed up in an oven? It seems logical as expense no issue. Is there some rule which says the game balls can't be warmed up in an oven on the sideline, changing them frequently? I think they also heat the field at least prior to kick off?

I can not wait till someone dies at the green bay game. I think it is stupid for them to even play the game when it could be -16 with a wind chil of -30. That is down right dangerous weather.
Expect the worst and you will never be disappointed. I AM NOT PART OF GWAE RADIO SHOW

Don't have to go. Stay home and be warm and listen to the game on the radio. Game not sold out. Wow, a Packers playoff game blacked out in Green Bay.
I'll be watching in toasty warm Tampa.
Its just a forum. Nothing here to get obsessed about.

imagine the condensation that could appear on the ball in the time its taken out of the oven, and placed on the field at zero degeees? I can picture a sheet of ice forming on the ball

They were close enough that the NFL gave them another extension, and some companies stepped up and bought the remaining tickets - the game isn't blacked out. Colts sold out in time as well. Only questionable game left is Cincinnati.
