If you are playing an online promotion, you ought to pay attention to the time changes in spring and fall. Different casinos treat the time change differently.

I played a promotion this weekend that went 72 hours from opt in. The casino was kind enough to record my opt-in time to the minute on my promotions page. The question was, whether the promotion was going to end at the same hour and minute three days later, or was it going to end an hour later on the last day. It turns out that I opted in at 8:38 and the promo ended at 9:38 on the last day. I was able to squeeze out an extra $385 of promo cash in that extra hour.

On the other hand, I got stung by an online casino in the fall of 2022. They had a leaderboard promotion that was slated to run for three days. On the third day at 9pm, the countdown clock said that the leaderboard expired in 3 hours. I started playing heavily trying to take a high spot on the leaderboard. I kept checking my position in the standings every half hour and playing high enough stakes so as to hit a certain bubble score at the end of the competition. I check into the standings again at 11:30pm. My point total in the standings was lower than I expected and had barely moved since my last check. I did a little test play and realized that none of the scores were changing. Apparently, the promotion was programmed to run for 72 hours, but the clocks had been set an hour back during the promo. Scoring actually stopped at 11pm even though the rules and the countdown timer both indicated the leaderboard ended at midnight. I fell way short of the bubble that I was chasing just because the promo was cut short. I lost a decent chunk of money and missed out on a bigger prize.

There was a casino player tracking system that had a bug where you could cash out the same freeplay award as many times as possible between 2am and 2am on the day the clock went back. One person that I am aware of was able to repeatedly collect his $200 of freeplay over 100 times for over $20,000.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

I have situation where I can risk $50 every week and get an expectation of over $1000 in promo money. Your interesting anecdote blows my little scam out of the water, and with zero risk to your bankroll.
