Has anyone ever met the man or played with him?

Edit: I always hear stories about Captain who might not even be a real guy. Scoblete, the Arm, Dominator, Pawlicki, Patterson, but never anything about Yuri.
He came before a lot of them but seems to be mentioned the least.

Yup, as far as literature goes, Yuri was there before The Admiral. He knew what he was doing when all TA was doing was "rythym rolling". Then Scoblete decided to rewrite history and TA became a dice controller. AFAIK he (Yuri) was not a sucess and retired to CA. He should have opened a dice school!

"I've seen Yuri at the table once and I saw Frank at the table once .I saw how both guys shoot and it's like comparing today's supersonic jets with the first airplane. Yuri's shot had dead cat bounce as if dice glued to the table, while Frank's loud bang could be heard at the end of casino and dice were almost flying off the table.Guess which shot was random ,and which one was controlled?"

Just by reading the other reviews there is some hardcore bashing done by the GTC guys. I just ordered it so I guess I'll find out for myself.

I ended up emailing what seemed like the publishing company and they said he was retired from gambling. I also asked about a second edition or another book. They said nope. Looks like he's totally out of the game.

Seems like all the DI's are retired. And Dice Control is taking a back seat to Unbalanced Dice. That seems to be all the rage now. :P

Keep an open mind and realize that bashing by GTC is just protecting the "brand". He was the truth, at his time, and needed to be bashed by the hucksters and fairy tale spinners led by you know who. Dice wars!

Um, skilled handle-pulling hasn't been a thing since the 70s.

The title "Confessions of a Wayward Catholic" conjures up visions of the author being subjugated by a holy ghost, a demented captain, and an arm.

One might easily blame such tripe on being raised with guilt over original sin.

Wondering if anyone knows of any current or relatively new literature on DI?

It's kind of like 1898 or so when some wag mentioned the US patent office should shut down cause there was nothing left to invent!

I believe Yuri took Frank to court. Infringement rights, have no idea what was the outcome. Anyway, thanks to Kononenko book, Scoblete turned into a "craps star". Plagiarism paid huge dividends. And the person who created the theory and proved it on practice fell into an oblivion. What's new in this world?

I know you are not going to want to hear this but Heavy, on his site, gives a good history of the early days and the falling out between camps. I'm sure he would love to have an old "friend" like you visit his site. Scoblete, personna non grata.
