I was playing the practice version of bovada craps the other day and noticed something that I don't remember seeing before on craps simulations. please tell me if i have just forgotten a house rule issue on this scenario:

let's say you bet the come out roll and the point is set. you then buy the 6 and 8 and your point # comes in. the point button is turned to 'off' and a new come out roll is made to set a new point, while your bets remain placed on the 6 and 8. on the new come out roll shooter rolls 7 -and the dealer pays you for the 7 but takes your 6 & 8 bets- even though the point line is still 'off'. if you roll an 11 on the come out it stays, but if you roll 7 it is taken by the house as a loss.

I have not noticed this on any of the other crap simulations i have played including the one on this site. i thought all point line bets were 'off' during the come out and you couldn't win or lose on them until the point is set?

am i overlooking something simple or is this just the bovada house rule?

thanks.

I just played around on both the Wizard's craps game and Bovada's free version. It looks like the Wizard's game follows the generally accepted casino convention that all place bets are off during the come out roll. You don't lose them on a come-out seven, and you also don't win them on a come-out place number. This is what will happen in any land-based casino I've played in, and if you want the opposite (place bets working on the come out), you have to ask and they will specifically place an "on" button on one or all of your bets (same with come bet odds).

Bovada appears to leave them working, which seems weird to me. Given this information, if you want to follow the general convention on Bovada, you would have to take down your place bets individually before the come out roll on (this is possible as place bets can be taken down at any time).
