Great site mr shackleford, so let’s say someone won the 10% blazin 7s three suited same (maybe friend or something 😂) you think I saw have listed .000012 probability so is that like 83000-1 odds form like 5 times more than a hole in one!? Hard to search for answer or use chat gpt just want to clarify, also side question might as well I think travel channel once said video poker was worse odds than slots? Maybe I heard it wrong several years ago so video poke is better one? ( was also misguided on that) thanks again !

I cruised by a bunch of casinos that had the Blazing 7's JP linked so they were the same at each casino but they were going up at each. It was $5 per progressive bet. The JP was just crossing past $20K that night, so 10% would be $2K, which is only 400:1 payout but enough for a tax form. I don't know if winning a 10% prize lowers the main JP by 10%. I believe the Wiz calculated that the main JP should be over $118K for a positive EV, so a $20K JP is such a negative EV bet it's ridiculous. It's hard enough to hit either JP to begin with but you want to get paid enough when you do hit it. Throwing $5 bet after $5 bet when the JP is too low is a losing bet. Just play regular BJ and maybe add the $5 bet when the JP is much higher. If the JP is $120K, 10% would be $12k or a 2,400:1 payout. I'm not gonna waste my money on this bet unless I happen to be playing when the meter is above $120K.

You could wind up betting $350K at $5 at a time before winning the grand prize but the lower prizes offer some payback, so the Wiz figured that around $118K would be the breakeven point for the top prize. That's not to say everybody else won't play the bet because it will go up and will most likely be won at some point at any random time and there's half a chance it will be won below the $118K point. It takes a long time to rack up that JP, months and months, maybe a year. It may be won by people who don't make the $5 side bet so they don't win the JP. It's a longshot bet and players can't resist the longshots most of the time with all that FOMO. You could play for 1,000 hours straight and somebody else will win because you're not the only one playing.

Played with optimal strategy, Video Poker generally has a house edge under 3%.
Played with nonoptimal strategy, Video Poker can have a much higher house edge.
Slots generally have about a 10% house edge.
(A smaller house edge is better for the player.)

The top prize in Video Poker is usually around 800x the player's bet. If you couldn't bear to win a prize so small, then a different game may appeal more.
May the cards fall in your favor.

Noticed that the casino chain that I visited that is offering the 100% & the 10% JP prizes on Blazing 7's that crossed $20K 11 days ago was at $58K yesterday and it was climbing fast like $1K/hr or thereabouts. It could cross $118K by the middle of next month at this rate. I'd only make that bet if I was betting like $100/hand or something large expecting to win huge anyway because playing 1,000 hands at $5/hand on the side bet is $5,000 wasted right there without some kind of winning kickbacks.
