With roulette i know all systems are destined to lose in the end, but are there still smarter places to place the chips on the board

for example if i wanted to place a bet on a 2:1 square and on a 1:1 square i should place bets that overlap with one another right?

like it be wisest to place it on 3-16 column and the red numbers? (or the 2-35 column and the black numbers) because each of those respective columns have more of a certain color number then the 1-34 column.

is this right?

hope that made sense...

You should never do the 2:1 columns in the first place since you don't get half back on green. As for colors and the columns, it depends how much you want to gamble. But still, if you must just do it all on one color.

well lets say i gamble eg 10$ on the 2-36 column and 5$ on red, this would be a better bet then 10$ on the 2-36 column and 5$ on black right?

so what i'm saying is even though the odds are the same, if it does land on red (when i bet 10$ on 2-36 column and 5$ on red), if it is one of these red numbers 3, 9, 12, 18, 21, 27, 30, 36 i get a win on both the column and the color.

but if it does land on black (when i bet 10$ on the 2-36 column and 5$ on black) it has to be one of these black numbers 6, 15, 24, 33 for me to get a win on both...

does the mean that even though odds are the same, there are smarter bets to places in this case?

It'll coincide to win more doing it that way. The other way is more "safe" since you'll be covering more numbers. The worst bet to make they say is betting 0,00,1,2,3 as a whole.

The only bet in roulette that changes your odds is betting the first five (has a higher HE). Otherwise no matter how you mix and match or set things up your HE will always be 5.26% for a double zero wheel.

smarter bets? not really
you must mean $10 on Col3 (3-36)
all you have to do is list every spin and place next to it the net win Red and Col3
here is the distribution I get
25 net: 8 ways
15 net: 4 ways
-15 net: 16 ways
-5 net: 10 ways

you will find your average loss = -30/38 or about -0.789473684
take the average loss and divide by your $15 total bet for the house edge
-30/38 * 1/15 = -2/38
now do it for betting on Black and Col3

I am willing to bet BIG money here that that value will be exactly -2/38 for a 38 slot wheel
a different distribution, but same end result
net loss = -30/38
same number of ways to a net win
same number of ways to a net loss
25 net: 4 ways
15 net: 8 ways
-15 net: 12 ways
-5 net: 14 ways
0	-15
00 -15
36 15
35 -5
34 -15
33 25
32 -15
31 -5
30 15

9 15
8 -5
7 -15
6 25
5 -15

1 -15

your failure was the failure to consider every possible spin outcome
I know you can do better than that

ok thank you, i crunched all the numbers like you did in your spoiler, and compared the 2 bets that i suggested and this was the outcome i got (btw im placing bets on a euro board, so no 00)

bet on Col 3 and on Red

-15$ - 40.54%
-10$ - 27.02%
+5$ - 10.81%
+10$ - 21.62%

bet on Col 3 and on Black

-15$ - 29.72%
-10$ - 37.83%
+5$ - 21.62%
+10$ - 10.81%

So its not a smarter bet,

its just which id rather if id rather have that 10.8% on the -15$ and the +10$ OR have the 10.8% on the -10$ and the +5$

aka more risk = the chance at more money + the chance at losing more money

Ok thank you :)
