Below are 2 systems I wasted my time developing. The first one looks standard, you can clearly see it has no value beyond redistributing your losses. The second one is a less agressive multi-level variation of martingale and looks like it could bankrupt a casino. I understand both are equally worthless and wouldnt be posting them publicly if I believed they had any value. Probably not a new idea, but still fun to get odds of going bust over a million.

SYSTEM #1
Percent of loss recovered without losing final bet: 100%
Total loss from progressive bets if final bet loses: $384
Total losses in a row: 9
Maximum loss will occur on average 1 in: 512

Loss 1 $1 ..... 1:2
Loss 2 $2 ..... 1:4
Loss 3 $3 ..... 1:8
Loss 4 $6 ..... 1:16
Loss 5 $12 ... 1:32
Loss 6 $24 ... 1:64
Loss 7 $48 ... 1:128
Loss 8 $96 ... 1:256
Loss 9 $192 .. 1:512

-$384 After losing 9 in a row.

SYSTEM #2
Percent of loss recovered without losing final bet: 10%
Total loss from progressive bets if final bet loses: $480
Total losses in a row: 20
Maximum loss will occur on average 1 in: 1,048,576 bets.

Loss 1 $1 ..... 1:2
Loss 2 $2 ..... 1:4
Loss 3 $4 ..... 1:8
Loss 4 $8 ..... 1:16

-$15 After losing 4 in a row. (10% = $1.50)

Loss 5 $2 ..... 1:32
Loss 6 $4 ..... 1:64
Loss 7 $8 ..... 1:128
Loss 8 $16 .... 1:256

-$15 + -$30 = -$45 After losing 8 in a row. (10% = $4.50)

Loss 9 $5 ..... 1:512
Loss 10 $10 .... 1:1,024
Loss 11 $20 .... 1:2,048
Loss 12 $40 .... 1:4,096

-$15 + -$30 + -$75 = -$120 After losing 12 in a row. (10% = $12)

Loss 13 $12 .... 1:8,192
Loss 14 $24 .... 1:16,384
Loss 15 $48 .... 1:32,768
Loss 16 $96 .... 1:65,536

-$15 + -$30 + -$75 + -$120 = -$240 After losing 16 in a row. (10% = $24)

Loss 17 $24 .... 1:131,072
Loss 18 $48 .... 1:262,144
Loss 19 $96 .... 1:524,288
Loss 20 $192 ... 1:1,048,576

-$15 + -$30 + -$75 + -$120 + -$240 = -$480 After losing 20 in a row.

Yes. The least you could have done is somehow work a photo of a good looking cocktail waitress into the two systems.

I made a printable cheat-sheet and added some value to the system:

So I says to him, I said "Get your own monkey!"

and added some value to the system:

You sure did!! Thanks. Made that morning cup of coffee most enjoyable.
Martingale was the guy who ran around exhorting everyone to "Double Up to Catch Up". His exhortations never helped his customers nor did they if the exhortations were some how displaced until after a string of losses.

Been holding a telescope up to that name tag on the girl in blue all day long but can't figure out where she works!

Now as to substantive comments:

Martingale is a popular system. Its been around for ages. It didn't work in the past or else Martingale would not have advocated it since he owned the casino.

Eventually one comes up against table limits and bankroll limits. And all this is largely to recoup losses.

The trick seems to be to avoid the losses. Anyone have a system for that?

I keep seeing the word loss here so many times. Isn't there ever a "win"?

Oh Darn It All. It happens every time I post something while sober. It was this poor "roibread"s first post and I've chased him away.
Being sober ain't all its cracked up to be. Same thing with sane, I think. See if you can track him down, Mr. Wizard, and convey my apologies to him.

I'd love to strike gold! Martingale is the "Double Up to Catch up" guy... but what on earth is Multi Level Martingale?
