Banking!!!! good idea?

I live in California. There is a card room where in their Black Jack games, it offers the opportunity to Bank twice each round...meaning you play against the players. Now i pay a two dollar commission but does that mean my odds are on my favor? Why would a casino let you bank? you can even have the casino be the player while you bank. So far out of my two times i banked i made 1000.00 dollars. My question is, do i have any odds against me banking other than bankroll?

When you bank, the house advantage is yours. If you're playing a game with a 0.5% house edge and the commission is $2, then you have an advantage if your bet is $400 or more (2/.005=400).

In California, the card rooms are all player banked. If the lay-players don't want to bank, then a corporate player banks.

I Agree 100%

As i am a living proof that betting strategies DO NOT work, i'm here to ask what DOES work? I have studied statistics and calculus and thought...THOUGHT i had a system going on. This is until i lost 17 hands in a row in Black Jack four times in a month period. I am well aware of the martingale system and thank goodness i did not use it Completely... However i still had a similar limited system. I am 100% convinced now. But what does help improve my odds? Does card counting help at all?

Despite what the naysayers will tell you, there is money to be made at card counting but there's a lot more to it than reading a couple of books. Post something in the forum under Blackjack if you want to explore it further.

Would you please tell me why you would sit at the same table for 17 losses in a row. There are so many tables where I play, my limit is 7 in a row. Is that the problem not enough tables?

Sure, card counting helps. But you better have skin that is very thick.

Well i sat there and played it through... Now i didnt leave becuase after the 7th loss, i dropped my bet back to 10 dollars and began pumping it back up. But i also experienced where i lost 7 in a row and went to a different table and the bad streak continues there... so i dont know if changes tables would do the trick.

Try scouting the tables. Watch 8-10 hands. Look for the dealer to break 4 or 5 times. Look to see if the dealer keeps making his hands. Look at the chip rack is it full, or does it need a fill. Get to know the dealers, ask them if they are hot. At my home casino which is one of the largest I know at least half the dealers on the evening shift. Many will tell me to keep walking with out me even asking. While none of these conditions is a guarantee it is a good start

^ Yep, because what happened in the last couple hours is sure to determine how it will go in the future. C'mon...
