what are the odds of correctly picking a 7 digit number from 10 numbers,0 thru 9. Thisis a casino promotion offered in our area. The payoff is $500,000.00 for the correct pick. I think one would be struck by lightning before randomly picking the correct numbers. What do you think???

Is it really 0-9? Can the first digit be 0? If so, the odds of getting each number correct are 1:10, and the odds of getting all 7 numbers correct are 1:10^7, or 1 in 10 million. The odds of being struck by lightning are about 1:300,000/year and about 1:4000 in a lifetime. So you're way more likely to be struck by lightning than to win this game - but you don't get $500k when lightning strikes:-)
