Sam for a wild weekend but Nessa to take home to the parents (that, and I'm a sucker for accents).

Agree. Nessa was smoking hot.

Also Delinda would need a boob job before she could compete with Mary IMO.

I always wondered if the Security room is as advanced and detailed as the one on the show. Do the casino's really have all the facial recogniton capabilities and such?
On a side note- Though Delinda was 3rd on my picks, she is way ahead of Piper who joined the show in its last year or so. She definately was a downgrade from the other actresses.

I'm watching this show right now, and I'm wondering just what is this game -
It's been featured in the background a lot and as a plot device once (Jerry O'Connell won a car betting 5 dollars on it).
There are 20 wedges that show - $70, $60, $100, ?, $40, ? Vacation, $45, car, $65, $150, $50, $250, $55, $125, $1,000, $400, $75, $750, $80, $25,000 as well as "Double up red" and "Double up black" covering the space of 2 wedges throughout the wheel and apperantly it's progressive... Somehow...
I'm suspecting it's some sort of a promotion or a game they invented without thinking about it too much because I don't see how it works out as a real casino game...

Security and Surveillance are separate entities. The surveillance room is pure Hollywood, I'm sure. It takes casinos a long time to upgrade to digital color rather than B&W VCRs. No microphones at all. Face recognition is rudimentary and all it does is store a face's relationship to twelve standard faces and then search for that index number which will provide a short list of match-candidates. Entranceway cameras often have height indicators in the background. And yes, some of those advertisements do have concealed cameras so that males looking at the female depicted in the advertisement will be likely to be showing their full face to the camera without realizing it. Surveillance personnel enter and exit the building by a separate doorway from other employees and surveillance personnel do not enter the gaming floor for any purpose.

Other things I have read is survalence is a very dark room and not that well paying for the employees. Survalence employees not only enter seperate but are not supposed to fratenize with any other employees at all. (I assume this means not even being allowed in the EDR for meals.) All in all my impression was that survelance is not the place to make a good career path and best for people who "hate people" to work.

On the "cameras in the advertisements" that goes way back. I heard that on an early "Miami Vice" where Tubbs says to put a centerfold poster up near a camera so you can get a good ID.

I think the TV show made a lot of stuff up to look more advanced than it was and lets face it, the casinos would like that. A huge part of any type of "security" is simple deterence. If I see all those smoked-globes that I know have cameras I will be far less likely to try anything if I am smart.

I never thought about this. Positively, devilishly, genius idea! Now if someone ever figures out how to put a mini camera w/battery in those stripper cards the guys on the street hand out, we're all in trouble! :)

The Montesino seems to me like a very humanitarian casino, with the main staff taking time out of their day and going REALLY out of their way to help out regular players with their non casino related life problems, at time investing a lot of money and risking their own lives for their well being.
