There was an incident at the Motor City casino in Detroit where a woman was 86'd for picking up a nickel in a slot machine tray. Here is the full story.

Yes, there are lots of credit trolls that prowl around looking for credits people leave on machines. I don't think it rises to "making a living" but I think some homeless people do it to make a little pocket money.

If you read the ruling of the case where she won, the MI court sided with the patron stating that the casino has no right what-so-ever to any abandoned money. Obviously this will be a state by state case. I find change, tickets, and even a few weeks ago $30 in cold cash just sitting on a machine at MCC and noone blinked an eye. The most I ever found at one time was a $50 ticket sticking out of a VP machine at greektown. That nickel token the casino worried about ended up costing them $400,000 and I dont think they will ever harrass anyone again over lost/found money. MGM Detroit tried to harrass me just over a year ago for the same thing while my dealer friend was on break and after I told them of what happened at MCC and that I would file a lawsuit, they backed off and left me alone. Now I dont make it a habit of going to the casinos just to find money, but if I am there and happen to see credits, tickets, change, chips or and other form of money, I am taking it.
