Hello everyone I just returned from Macau and Taiwan! I had no time to collect, let alone play. It will have to wait until next time.
I will try hard to post my last 4, one each day. Here is the first one.

Country: Costa Rica
City: San José
Casino: Concorde Casino (Best Western Irazú)

Concorde casino is located west of San Jose downtown area, right off of Highway 1. It has a Denny's onsite. It's a comfortable casino with warm colors. Photos can be found on Google. It has 4 poker tables, 1 Rummy at Colones 2-10k/$5-50 USD, 2 Canasta, 4 PGP, 1 "Holdem Concorde" which is probably UTH, and 1 eRoulette.

I played PGP and right after the 1st hand, the pit noted my initial bet of 10k colones and gave me a computer printed slip of matchplay for 10k/$20, but I lost it when I played it a few hands in. Also, I noticed some players had their keys and/or smartphones on the table, and one guy was even streaming youtube without incident, but talking about the cards was strictly prohibited.

The chip itself is the same on both sides with no city listed, so I listed it as San Jose in the title. It's also pretty nice for a $0.20 USD chip.
The color of other chip denominations were:
100 brown, 500 blue, 1k red, 5k purple/grape, 10k green, 50k off-white/light gray, 100k black.

$1 approx 550 Colones when it was collected in Feb 2017.

Thanks for the post Konbu, I'm sorry to hear you went all that way and didn't get to play. The .20 cent USD value chip is really nice for that denomination. It has to cost a bit more than that to purchase one from the manufacturer.

I take it that it was work that took you to that part of the world? Too bad you couldn't collect any chips in Macau.

Are you planning on coming to Spring Fling?

Is it April 12th yet? I was fine until I booked all the hotels for my chip collecting and spring fling trip but now I'm itching to get going. Just under three weeks until I hit the road. Anybody have a time machine that I could borrow?

You could go pick up those Washington & Oregon & Dakota chips while you are waiting.

Doc you are so funny, you could be a stand up comedian if you weren't siting when you typed this.

I was traveling with someone who doesn't gamble and we only had a day to take in the sights. We ended up doing a 5 min tour of Grand Lisboa then left the casino for other touristy locales.
I will be in London, Paris, and Amsterdam during the Spring Fling! I need to do homework on which casinos I can visit but I have so little time!

Country: Costa Rica
City: Alajuela
Casino: CIRSA (Fiesta Alajuela)

There are multiple Fiesta casinos and this one is located in Alajuela, just a few miles north of SJO (Juan Santamaría International Airport). It has 1 PGP at 5k colones/$10-500 and bonus bet of $2-100, BJ with $1-15 perfect pair bet, 1 3CP, and 1 Canasta. The Casino Fiesta across from the Holiday Inn Express next to the airport also uses the same chips.

Like at the Concorde casino, the table sup noted my initial bet of 5k colones and gave me a computer printed slip of matchplay for 5k, and I think I won it this time.

The chip itself is a tophat cane with gold foil and is the same on both sides with no city or actual name of the casino listed, just the gaming company's name of CIRSA which stands for "Compañía Internacional de Recreativos S.A."

$1 approx 550 Colones when it was collected in Feb 2017.

Holy crap you travel for work a lot. I want your job minus the work so basically I'd like a company to pay me to travel and pay for said travel. Know of any openings like that?
