Currently, both Cannery and Eastside Cannery have a promotion called the $500 Great Rebate by which a player can lose between $20-$500 and will get a rebate in the form of Free Play or a voucher for chips for half of the amount lost at two different times.

The website doesn't include many of the details for this promotion, so I made a call to Cannery Casino to get some details, and here is what I was told.

1.) Do you have to be a new CAN Club Member?

-Yes.

2.) Can you do this promotion at Cannery AND at Eastside Cannery?

-Yes, as with all other promotions/points etc., these two clubs are not linked in anyway except they are both called, "CAN Club."

3.) Are there any games where this promotion is not valid?

-No, except you must do it at Tables or Slots/VP, you cannot, for example, lose some of it at tables and some at VP, it must be one or the other.

4.) The website says, Nevada residents only, is that true for both properties?

-No, it's actually not true for either property. To receive the physical mailer advising of the dates for redemption, one must live in Nevada, California, Utah or...(sorry, forget the last one) players from other States, however, can give a valid E-Mail address and will be apprised as to the dates for redemption.

5.) How does the redemption take place?

-The redemption is in two increments each 50% of the loss. Free Play can be downloaded at the kiosks and the kiosks will print out a redemption ticket for chip vouchers to be presented at table games.

6.) Other important terms:

A.) The rebate requires that players lose at least $20 and play for at least 20 minutes, which pretty much eliminates any immediate bold play shot-taking for the entire $500.

B.) The loss must be on tables or slots/vp, not a combination of the two.

C.) No VP games are excluded from the promotion.

7.) Best Games:

For Video Poker-According to VPFree2

Cannery Casino: 99.17% Bonus Poker ($0.25, $0.50, $1, $2)

Eastside Cannery:

100.17% DB $.25
99.996% 9/6/90 JOB $.25
99.96 DDB $.25
99.73% NSUD $.05, $.10, $.25
99.66% BP $.25
99.58% TDB $.25
99.54% JoB $.05, $.10, $.25
99.17% BP $.05, $.10, $1, $2
99.11% DB $.05, $.10
98.44% JW $.25, $.50 $1, $2

Strategy

Video Poker: At Cannery, I would just play one of the $.25 denomination games for $1.25/hand for about 20 minutes and make sure the play gets rated, then, play optimally according to Wizard's Loss Rebate for Video Poker page:

https://wizardofodds.com/games/video-poker/loss-rebate/

Video Poker: At Eastside Cannery, I would play the $0.05 NSUD just to get the 20 minutes of play requirement completed and then the player should switch to whatever he deems appropriate according to Wizard's Loss Rebate page. The return percentage for the $2 games is actually pretty poor compared to the best returning $0.25 games, though, so the player might just do $0.25/denomination the entire time using the appropriate win goals.

Tables (Both): The Wizard might recommend something with higher Variance, and, if so, that'd be mathematically correct. I would probably just play Craps and bet the $5 minimum on the Pass Line and once the PB confirmed I had 20 minutes of play, bold play with PL + Odds for whatever was left, or all of it, if ahead.

Not a problem! Interestingly enough, the Player's Club Representative didn't know exactly when the redemption dates would be, so I might try to call and find out tomorrow.

yeah thanks mission nice find. I assume these places are owned by the same people, I wonder why they would let you do it at each place. Either way this will be a nice little maneuver. I was devastated when the Palms got rid of their 1000 blackjack and 1000 slot promo, I probably had like 6 or 7 people do it :) :) :)

You're welcome, Cannery, Eastside Cannery and The Meadows Casino (Western Pennsylvania) are all owned and operated by Cannery Casino Resorts, although, the lattermost of the three was recently sold with operation passing on sometime in 2015. I don't know why the Player's Clubs are not connected, but they never have been.

With respect to Cannery and Eastside, Eastside is on Boulder Highway and Cannery is known more for being a locals casino in North Las Vegas, and they both have decent freebies with the WebPASS programs as well as usually decent new member offers. My guess is they just want to compel people to go to both places rather than one or the other.

Good luck, prepare to argue and bitch. First half supposed to be 1 to 6 days 2nd half 6 to 12 days. 12 days out and ZERO back. Multiple inquiries through various management and still no Rebate, Also they have inaccurate records of losses. They won't budge even with logical proof. Not an isolated innocent @ both locations.

You must play for a certain length of time or you are disqualified.

Even with over 10k coin in apparently that's not sufficient.

Can the reimbursement (if you ever get it) be played on VP or does it have to be table games chips? If it's only table games chips, how do they work? Even money only? Lose chip on win (like a free bet)? Keep it until it loses?

I didn't ask for so many specifics on how the Table Games rebate worked, so all I can say is if you play slots/VP you get Free Play which could be used on VP.

It seems after you lose your initial $500 they send you an email and snail mail. You must wait 12 days to pick of half ( they say 10 days). They say it's automatic however that's not the case . You must go up to the players club and argue.

You only have 5 or 6 days to get your Free play or you forfit it. How and when the 2nd half comes has yet to be determined.

American Casino Guide says Eastside Cannery rebate is only good for locals (27 mile radius). Cannery rebate is only available to residents of Nevada, Arizona and Utah. Fml

Edit: In the days leading up to the cancellation of this promo both properties allowed non locals to participate.
