The closest grocery stores to the strip would probably be Albertsons, and Vonns. Both are east of the strip down Flamingo, just off of Maryland.
Vonns smells a little better than Albertsons and has better produce.
Vons is a few blocks north of Alberstons. There's also one east of the strip down Tropicana.

Not interested in closeness to the strip, more interested in the absolute best grocery store in Vegas overall.

Vegas has Super Targets, correct?

I'll say it again: What is your criteria for "Best" ?
Superstitions are silly, childish, irrational rituals, born out of fear of the unknown. But how much does it cost to knock on wood?

I like Smiths but I go there for liquor and store brand cola. Some good specials and they will give you the cardholder discount even if you have not registered for the card.

I'm new to the Las Vegas area and a little overwhelmed by the number of grocery stores. I wanted to know where to start....that's more coupon friendly especially with IPs? Albertsons, Vons, Smiths, or Food4less?

Seemed like Vons was sort of the 'locals', 'good deals and specials' grocery store. I often heard radio ads for Vons while driving around.

Other than that, all other options are pretty much like the stores in other states. I did some shopping at Wal Mart to the east of the strip and it was just like in my home town, except cashiers would have signs indicating they aren't old enough to process alcohol transactions.
