The question for the poll is would you play Diceball?
Quote: MrCasinoGamesThis game was trialed in G-casino Luton, UK in July/2015. http://buff.ly/2uteSvu
It was or is at the Swiss Casino in Zurich too. I can't see it catching on here due to being too similar to craps but I suppose having at least one dice game in European casinos makes sense. Craps is so complicated to learn that I can see going with something simpler like this.
Fewer bets to keep track of, and far fewer payouts rates to remember.
Me? You can have that crappy game. Give me craps!

Yes Wizard,
It is very difficult to get any Dice games going, in European or UK casinos.
The table is also still in Southampton though I don't know how often it opens.Quote: MrCasinoGamesThis game was trialed in G-casino Luton,...

Can players choose to turn their place bets "off" at any time?

I thought the UK was considered part of Europe.
Quote: AyecarumbaIf the shooter only makes a "Run" bet, is successful, then leaves, what happens to the "Grand Slam" bets?
I assume somebody else would roll. Same thing could be asked about craps -- what happens if an active shooter just walks off? I think they just pass the dice to the next person and let him finish.

I don't know.
There isn't really the concept of a Come out roll so bets are always active. The only thing with a new shooter is the counter is reset to 0 runs and the puck placed at home plate. As the shooter keeps missing 7s the puck moves round the bases until bets are paid when it gets back to home base.Quote: Ayecarumba...Can players choose to turn their place bets "off" at any time?

Pretty sure the game no longer exists at Four Winds, fwiw. They are the last casino I've seen offer WPT All-In Holdem though. I think they finally ditched that one too.
And I wish 3 dice football would make a comeback. Haha
Quote: tringlomaneNot like the math was hard, but I'm curious if you redid the run bet analysis as you already did it for another craps offshoot.

Quote:No, I totally forgot about that game and just did it from an empty spreadsheet. Very easy math.
Game inventors are often quick to say that the public is crying out for a dice game easier to understand than craps -- but I disagree. Every new dice game, except maybe Diceball, which has at least a few placements, has crashed and burned.

I admit I was one of these game inventors...but now I believe that craps will actually make a comeback with Millennials due to the social aspect of the game. With information available online, I believe the younger generation will less intimidated by craps as they get into their 30's & 40's and actually have bankrolls to play. They will also be in tune to the fact that the house edge in the Pass/Come Line action is a much better gamble than playing at the 6:5 Blackjack table.

I thought this had a lot of potential, especially in places like O'Sheas. Obviously I was wrong.
I played it at Coventry showcase and, even though I understand football, found the game confusing. I didn't seem immediately obvious how the scoring worked. For me, as a fan of American Football, 3-Dice Football was fun. I played it at O'Sheas and made some money betting a longshot. Put a "Raiders" wrap on it, and it might find a home in Las Vegas.
Quote: WatchMeWinI don't think this game would fly score big in the states. I would not play unless the craps game was postponed.
I'm not sure it does well in Europe either. Whoever is behind it, I think has a lot of juice it get it in, and remain in the casinos.
Even knowing the bad odds, I still might play in the future, just because it's so much fun to play a live dice game. The table was pretty lively and fun. But it's in a part of the casino that's only open on the busiest nights, I think. Of course I will put more emphasis on the Run Line if I play again. That still doesn't have great odds but not as bad as the rest.
One small error in the rules mentioned on The Wizard of Odds: Run Line bets can not only be placed or removed at the start of a new thrower, but also after every successful run. At least, that was how they played it while I was at the table.
Quote: MeneerJansenI saw and played this game for the first time last weekend in the Utrecht branch of Holland Casino. Normally I only play games if I know the rules and strategy (thanks Wizard!). But I had quite a lot of winnings in my pocket, the stakes on the diceball game were relatively low and I was eager to play a live dice game for the first time in my live. It was a lot of fun. I even left with a 100 euro profit. Now that I've seen the odds on The Wizard of Odds, I'm a bit shocked how bad the odds are on the Pass Line bets. And a bit disappointed in myself I didn't work out on the spot that they all have the exact same odds.

Thanks for the updated info, and welcome to the forum, MeneerJ! I'll direct the Wizard here - he likes to keep his WoO information very current, and he'll want to address this.
