Well, if you want to get technical, any number will "work", as any sequence of N real numbers are N consecutive terms of a polynomial of degree (or is it order - I always get those two confused) N.

6711 ...the last digit is just going up and down by odd numbers... 3, 6, 9, so next is 11. The first 2, as pointed out prior, are also in the pattern 45, 56, and the next should be 67. Though the first number of this number appears to be the 2nd digit of the previous number, so perhaps 6811? =p

Last 2 digits -> first 2 digits. +1, 0, -1, 0, +1, 0, etc... Can only be solved if you're given the following numbers after the X (i.e., can't solve for the next n+1 number unless you know n+2).

But I'm probably wrong.

Shouldn't 121 work as a beginning number?

X must be more than one number...

X(1) = 6711
X(2) = 7811

Good one.

That number fits within the arithmetical set, but the puzzle contains a physical constraint rendering that answer outside of the realm of possibilities.

Since there is an apparent physical constraint, the answer is:

6810

The numbers themselves represent two dice rolls other than 7, and the number of ways to roll them

2,3 have 3 rolls (1 2, 2 3s) = 233
3,4 have 5 rolls (2 3s, 3 4s) = 355
...,
10,11 have 5 rolls (3 10s, 2 11s) = 10115
11,12 have 3 rolls (2 11s, 1 12) = 11123

Since X is one number, I am assuming you are leaving out 7s; there are 5 6s and 5 8s = 6810

BOOM goes the dynamite!

Nice work Don!

6 and 8 come 10 ways! Yes sir!

There is no 7 on the craps layout hence no 7 in the puzzle. So looking at a layout gives you the first two numbers, then adding up the ways to make them gives you the 3rd number in each set.

Yes there is, it's right in the middle of every layout and pays 5 for 1 (or 4 to 1). I'd give the prize to VladsGiants.

Yeah that is a good answer, the best non-answer out there... what's the area up top called, "The Dealer Area"? The basis of the formula was the section up top, as printed. Then the odds of both numbers added up. Right down the line (think crapless, 2-12).
Anyway yes definitely a good guess Vlad.

New puzzle: There's something (obviously) wrong with the layout posted above. What is it? Hint: Not the prop box.

I think that on left the points should not be 10, NINE, 8, SIX, 5, 4 but 4, 5, SIX, 8, NINE,10 instead.

1. It's missing the double line above the place bets
2. It's missing the "12" graphic on the Don't Pass line on the left. So bet that and there's nothing barred.

Many things are wrong, but the worst of the worst is:

The 10 thru 4 on left side place bets. Dealing on that side would cause any dealer the biggest headache in the world.

But yes, it's funny how bad the prop box is -- lol at 5 for 1 on the hard 4/10! I just hope that's not for hop bets!!
