"for butler operation only"

(sigh)

I promise I won't spend four days reducing a demiglace and stinking up the place.
Please don't make me call the butler to turn on the stove when I want to cook myself a 3am croque madame.
May the cards fall in your favor.

If you had to pick one place to stay for a month, say, which place would you choose? What do you like most about it?

Have you ever stayed at Park MGM because of non smoking?
link to original post

Park MGM - no.

As far as best play or room to stay in long term, Ca Depend.

We like the Lanai suite at Cosmo (800 sq. ft.), but it can at times get noisy if your neighbor next door is blasting music (there is no stereo system per se, but if you fiddle with the upstairs and downstairs TVs you may turn them on in tandem and stream music to them simultaneously, and both do have wall mounted sound bars). It is not a very large room at all, but has a great two level set up, and outdoor private jacuzzi. (The Cosmo Bungalows are larger - but just too noisy for an extended stay due to being adjacent to the Marquis day/night club.)

The Salon suite at Wynn (1817 sq. ft.) or Encore (2261 sq. ft.) is very nice.

Also at Resorts World, the Crockford's Entertainment Suite (1650 sq. ft.)

There is a very nice suite at Venetian - this is the one the Wizard met me inside of the first time we met - currently called the Executive King Suite (1850 sq. ft.) with sauna, steam room, exercise room with treadmill. That one is very nice too. Will have to post pics of it.

For an off stay Strip, that Villa at GVR (2250 sq. ft.) is definitely nice too.

I suppose if you could swing the comps, heck, go for a Villa at Wynn, but you'd really have to be playing a lot to get a Villa RFB for a month. Wynn or Encore Salon suites, I have pulled those for up to two months straight, fully RFB.

Actually, yes. For some time we have both an electric water boiler and a portable induction cooktop with us, which means of course a pan. Useful for heating up leftovers.

I keep pushing all those buttons on the side - nada. I also checked to make sure the unit was plugged in and looked under the countertops to make sure the unit was plugged in - it was - and for any kind of circuit breaker or switch - couldn't find one.

Oh, and near the back, on the right, pushing that button raises a sort of fan, that rises up out of the countertop, so there is power, at least to that device in the back, but that had a separate power cord, a completely separate device.

Very odd. Maybe they have it switched off to market the property restaurants to people who aren't inclined to call the desk.

I’ve been in places with this setup and there tends to be a magnetic “key” in one of the drawers that you have to put in the right location on the induction cooktop in order to operate it. The keys I have seen look like a little metal knob.
The race is not always to the swift, nor the battle to the strong; but that is the way to bet.

Two bedroom villa, 2575 sq. ft. at Red Rock.

Red Rock has recently stepped it up with its new high limit table game salon, which has $20K max bets at Baccarat (used to be only $10K) for anyone. Very scantily clad cocktail waitresses that seem to be hand picked for how well they fit into their uniforms.

The old high limit salon is soon to be the new high limit slots room.

Outdoor jacuzzi and barbecue, lounge area.

One definite downside IS that these villas are located at the very end far away from the sole bank of elevators that services the casino and hotel lobby.

The Red Rock hotel rooms are not located above the casino - the casino is its own building connected to the hotel and wraps away from it.

I think you could set your Apple Watch for an indoor walk and actually have it record something worthwhile just walking from the casino to your room, especially if it is at the farthest end.

By request, and I lifted this pic off the 'net I did not take it, here are the outfits of the high limit salon cocktail waitresses at Red Rock.

The brunette on the right is a regular. I actually don't recall seeing the other two. The brunette is nice, but there are two blondes that are to die for, one very Marilyn Monroe voluptuous-esque and the other also tall but thin, like a volleyball star - with implants, but the problem is that both of them, know it, and act it, which may almost be unattractive at times. The brunette is very wholesome and down to earth.

These girls don't just serve drinks though, at the bar they just hang on some of the customers, who I assume are locals, talking to them nonstop. Sometimes it's hard to get a drink you have to ask the pit boss to get the girls' attention. Most make it clear by wearing marriage or engagement rings that they are taken, but they don't always act like they are married. Hey it's a job, they gotta get those tips.

Why don't you just keep a tailor on your personal staff?

Ironing boards seem to always be the same in all hotel rooms, although I've seen different colors. For a while our standard cell phone / airpods / ipad charger station was set up on an ironing board which is what you see there in the Parlor suite, but lately my wife has been practicing DJ'ing on the ironing board propped up on two square cushions, so now we usually have to move a small table somewhere for the charger station. Of course the desk(s) in the suite always have chargers, but even then...not always right there on top. At Red Rock the charger is under the desk near the floor and you have to run the cord up the back of the desk which is quite flush against the wall. Also at least one of the chargers we use makes a very slight buzzing sound (it's the only one I've found with three USB plugs) when plugged in so we don't want that in the bedroom or near my desk where I have to work sometimes hence the need to set up a charging station somewhere in the suite living room preferably away in the corner.

Hotel suites don't always have electrical outlets located right next to cabinets - Caesars seems more old school about that and has outlets all over the place.

But over all, yes, Wynn has done a really nice job with the newly remodeled parlor and salon suites. We used to ask for just the parlor suite which is a little smaller because sometimes we would stay so long, but nowadays when staying at Wynn I just go for the salons and don't worry about the comps because my play is off the chart (which, as I have discussed in the Adventures thread, isn't necessarily a good thing). I believe all Wynn rooms have been remodeled now including standard ones.

With the across the board remodeling, there is almost no reason to stay on the Encore side unless you want to stay a little away from the potential crowds. However, as I've noted in this thread, the last times we stayed in the Encore tower suites (been well over a year now since we have tried), the noise from the Zouk and Ayu clubs at Resorts World was just too much.

Venetian
Executive King Suite (formerly, Renaissance Suite / Executive Wellness Suite), 1850 sq. ft.

These are old school suites that granted, while in need of a refresh, include a large living room, full dining table, dressing room, jacuzzi tub, wet sauna and exercise room.

Palms

Loft Suite (the only one left with a stripper pole, from what I understand).

1458 sq. ft.

Also one of the only suites in Vegas with two queen beds, versus the usual king.

Special elevator to get to these suites.

Ready go, with poker match v. AWolf.

Wife jumped into action, without any prompting. Good fun.

A little live plant action.

And some modern art.

Very masculine, right down to the books in the room. I mean, would a female guest want to look through hundreds of pages of Gisele pics (not that I think anyone staying in Vegas would have time for such, but, still - very man cave esque.)

Caesars Vegas Augustus tower, spa suite. 1510 sq. ft.

The beauty of this suite is the steam room and sauna. The sauna is quite big actually, not like the small one person one at the Venetian Executive Wellness suite.

Well the thing about Caesars' Palace is that it is in fact plural s apostrophe implying that it is for all of the people - all treated like Caesars, at this resort.

This is a standard Caesars Palace Vegas Augustus tower room.

Not bad actually, I believe it is 650 sq. ft. and has great views.

I get rooms like this when I am not going to stay in the room, and just need a "filler" to qualify for some Seven Stars promo, such as a gift card giveaway. Often I won't even go up to the room, but I needed to use the bathroom, and why go publicly when you have a private room, so up I went, and took some pictures while there. I do like to get an idea of what the standard rooms are like at different resorts.

Great Bellagio fountain views.

The mirrored ceilings are standard at least in the living rooms of Wynn's suites, you don't really think about them after initially noticing.

Many of the suites at the Golden Nugget have mirrored strips above the bed.

Yes, back then the spa tower suites at the Golden Nugget were about the only ones with the mirrored ceilings (in the bedrooms only), but now they are in the suites at the Wynn too in the living rooms too. What is interesting is that in for example the Wynn or Encore salon suites
Salon suite at Wynn (1817 sq. ft.) or Encore (2261 sq. ft.)
the mirrors are on the living room ceilings but not in the bedrooms.

However, at Wynn/Encore the mirroring is selective while in that particular "fussball" suite at GVR the mirrors are on the entire living room ceiling.

This is in Harvey's LAKE TAHOE.

Harvey's was an independent casino for decades, but was bought by Harrah's in 2001.

This is what I call their "shower view suite" because the glass enclosed shower has a panoramic view of the lake, and the bathroom itself accesses the balcony same as the living room. It is about 1200 square feet.

Shower (no tub)

Balcony view

The more traditional balcony suites they have, they used to refer to by codes, S1, S2, S3. All look similar, but the S3s were slightly larger. This is an S3 suite, on one of their highest floors, and is approximately 1300 square feet.

These all include a sunken tub

The steam unit was disconnected from the shower around the time of the Pandemic, when they remodeled all the rooms, but the heated towel bar remains.

And of course, the balcony and its view, which is what makes Harvey’s, which is Lake Tahoe lakeside, what it is.
