Any suggestions for a good Brazilian steakhouse near the strip? I'm going for a guys trip in August and some of us would rather not spend $100+ on a meal, but a $50/person Brazilian steakhouse would be a good option. We've got a Fogo de Chao here in Scottsdale, AZ so that's my benchmark.

Thanks!

I've always wanted to eat at Samba's in The Mirage. I've walked by and seen tables full of food and it looked good.

I would assume that the Rio has one?

Have never been to the Vegas location of TdB but have gone many times to the Fort Worth and Addison, TX locations. I highly recommend it. Go to their website and sign up for their email club and you may get a good offer (usually only available for Sun-Th at my locations) before you go.

I've been to Samba in the Mirage. The food was good, but the servers came around infrequently. You get a salad but they don't have a salad bar. We were going to try Texas de Brazil, but it would've required a cab ride from the strip. I was there in December on the night that BB Kings place opened up so some at our table could see him and the other VIPs.

The only thing I can use as a comparison is Fogo de Chao in DC and Dallas, and I like Fogo de Chao a lot more.

I've been to most and my favorite, for both the food and the extraordinary ambience, is Rum Jungle at Mandalay Bay. Samba is good but nowhere near the scene that you'll experience at this place.

I would just like to compliment JerryLogan on the above post. You're getting better, Jerry.

Ate there recently and can confirm it was excellent. A little pricey, but you won't need to eat again for 24 hours.

Via Brazil in Summerlin Vegas has a less expensive option. Mon-Thur 5PM to 7 PM for $19 (choice of 5 meats) [also Saturday & Sunday afternoon, but not on Fridays]. This churrascaria is supposed to be excellent.

Via Brazil Steakhouse
1225 S. Ft. Apache Road
Las Vegas, NV 89117

Via Brasil Steakhouse (review: Chosen as Best Ethnic Restaurant in Best of Las Vegas)
Brazilian steakhouses have been one of the more prominent restaurant trends in Las Vegas in recent years, but Via Brasil stands above the rest. The food is great, and with 18 meats coming around on skewers, there’s plenty to like for the fussiest fussbudget. It also has an extensive buffet that could be dinner in its own right, has reasonable prices and is easy to get to.

One idea is to combine this meal with a stop at Rampart casino which offers the 100X odds in craps.

I would rent a car from Enterprise since it will be comparable to taxi fare. Just use the car during the day for something else.

city streets
Take Flamingo Street West to Fort Apache (just before 215 entrance), turn right on head north until you see Via Brazil on your left (if you hit Charleston Blvd you've gone too far). You may have to make a U-turn. It's about 8-10 miles from the strip. After dinner keep heading north on Rampart Blvd until you see Rampart casino on your left

freeways
1. Take the ramp from some road perpendicular to the strip onto I-15 N (about 4 miles)
2. Take exit 42A to merge onto I-515 N/US-95 N toward Reno 1.8 mi
3. Continue onto US-95 N 3.2 mi
4. Take exit 81A to merge onto Summerlin Pkwy W 2.6 mi
5. Take the Rampart Blvd exit 0.3 mi
6. Turn left at N Rampart Blvd 1.5 mi (you will pass Rampart Casino and Suncoast Casino)
7. Continue onto S Fort Apache Rd (cross Charleston Blvd)
Via Brazil will be on the right 0.1 mi

You are also in the vicinity of Red Rock casino

Texas de Brazil is in the Town Square shopping center which is accessible from the ACE Gold Bus. It is not necessary to take a taxi since you will probably already have a bus pass. Texas de Brazil also opens at 5PM (4PM on weekends) but it doesn't have the low price option for the first two hours like ViaBrazil. Plus Texas de Brazil has over 15 nationwide locations, while ViaBrazil is unique to Las Vegas.
