On the Roll to Win hybrid tables, there are at some of the tables, a side bet called Hot Shooter Bonus. Not all casino's have this turned on in their software. Harrah's Las Vegas has it turned off. Harrah's Cherokee and Murphy Nc have it on. I would like to know the house edge on the game. You can bet from $1 to $50 before a new shooter rolls their first roll. Come out roll and all rolls count. It's the total number of rolls before a 7 out. If the shooter rolls 8 rolls it pays 1 to 1. (you get your initial bet back).
16 rolls 3 to1
24 rolls 5 to 1
32 rolls 7 to 1
40 rolls 12 to 1
45 rolls 30 to 1
50 rolls 100 to 1
After 50 rolls doesn't matter. It stops at 50 rolls

Two questions:

1. Does the roll where you seven out count? For example, you make seven rolls, but on the eighth roll, you seven out - do you win or lose?

2. You say "it pays 1 to 1. (you get your initial bet back)." Does that mean that if you bet 1 and you make, say, 10 rolls before sevening out, you get just your initial bet back, or your initial bet plus 1 more? The first one is "1 for 1," not "1 to 1"; the second one is "1 to 1." I am assuming that all payouts are either "for 1" or "to 1,"

This is easily solved with a Markov chain (only five states). Unfortunately I don’t think there’s another feasible way to solve it.

Neither do I.

If the odds are all assumed to be "for 1" (otherwise this is an AP) and the roll that sevens out is not counted (i.e. seven rolls followed by a seven out is a loss), the HE is 21.561%,

The payouts appear to be "for 1". Since this would qualify as a slot machine, if you bet $10 or more on the side bet and $200 or more on the Don't for a 7-out after 51 rolls, you'll win $1200+ on a 7-out and trigger a tax form that shuts down your screen until someone shows up and it could be a major inconvenience. If you're gonna bet $100 and win $100 for 1, that's a $10,000 winner's check right there.

The Wiz has a page that shows the probability of a seven out, or surviving, X rolls. It's at https://wizardofodds.com/games/craps/number-of-rolls/

If the shooter rolls 8 rolls it pays 1 to 1. (you get your initial bet back).

If you get your bet back, i.e. a push, then mathematically, it's 1 FOR 1. The other pay lines you listed are probably similarly x FOR 1 which means: your value less 1 'to 1'.

I used the numbers from that page to come up with this table.I'm not sure if I did this right, but here's what I came up with:

Rolls Odds X for 1 Pay
8
0.370 191 35
1
0.370 191 35
16
0.113 530 70
3
0.227 061 40
24
0.034 775 54
5
0.139 102 16
32
0.010 648 64
7
0.063 891 84
40
0.003 260 44
12
0.035 864 84
45
0.001 556 00
30
0.045 124 00
50
0.000 742 57
100
0.073 514 43
Total
0.954 750 02
Edge
0.045 249 98

That's a house edge of 4.5% which is relatively low for a side bet.

Note that if I used your original numbers for the six lines other than the push, then I get a player advantage of 11.9%.

Of course, I'm not entirely sure I didn't miss something.

I think you did
The probability of getting between 8 and 15 rolls, which pays 1 for 1, is the probability of getting to 8 rolls minus the probability of getting to 16 rolls.
The probability of getting between 16 and 23 rolls, which pays 3 for 1, is the probability of getting to 16 rolls minus the probability of getting to 24 rolls.
And so on.

When you adjust the numbers, you get this:
RollsProbOdds (for 1)Pays
80.2566606510.25666065
160.0787551630.23626548

450.00081343300.0244029
500.000742571000.074257
Total 0.78439121
House Edge 0.21560879

In that case, the HE is only 9.074038%

However, I see in the above photo that 100 is paid for "over 50 rolled," in which case, the HE is 9.902889%

I agree. Here is my new page on Hot Shooter Jackpot. I welcome all comments.

Guess I phrased it wrong. If you have $5 on the hot shooter bonus and the shooter rolls 8 times. You get paid $10. You're original wager plus $5. Sorry for the confusion.

You missed a line in the rules section where you list the bet/payouts.

Um… You were right the first time. It’s a push.

Changing that ‘error’ alone would make it about a 20% player advantage (assuming everything else in the Wiz article is right).

At the bottom of this WOO page, the heading "External Links" has a spelling typo.
