Somewhere Chuck Woolery is kicking himself for leaving that job.

Given Vanna's daughter has worked the board a few times, I feel like Vanna takes over hosting duties and daughter takes the board.

That's Pat Sajak's daughter Maggie you're thinking of.

Pat Sajak has announced that this season's "Wheel of Fortune" will be his last. Thus endeth the Trebek/Sajak era of "Jeopardy!" and the Wheel. A person born the day of Sajak's first show will be 41 years old when the last episode is broadcast.

Some are already lobbying for Vanna White to take over hosting duties. Whatever they decide, I'm guessing it won't be an entire season of auditioning guest hosts.

I was going to start a thread on this but since it stared here.....

Sajak earns at least $15 million a year from royalties, licensing fees and other payments related to licensing his image to around 20,000 "Wheel of Fortune" slot machines in casinos around the world since 1996, according to the site.

That is about $750 per machine. Figure Vanna gets about as much, and the show producers probably have an even bigger slice. Is if fair to say that the casino is paying about $5,000 per machine in license fees per year per machine?

If you haven't heard, Mayim Bialik temporarily stepped away from hosting duties at Jeopardy! in solidarity with striking WGA and SAG-AFTRA members. Shortly after that, the show announced that Bialik was being formally replaced by Ken Jennings.

So the battle royal has officially ended. The dust has settled to reveal Ken Jennings as the lone Jeopardy! host. It took three years after the death of Alex Trebek to arrive back at square one, their original replacement choice.

Bialik did not take this news well.

She forgot to live by two immutable rules: 90% of success in life is showing up, and the show must go on.

She decided not to show up, so the show is going on without her.

And I liked her as a host, as well as Ken.

I'm not a huge Jeopardy fan, but Jennings seemed like the obvious choice from day one.

I agree. Also, MB is not a good host. KJ is a good host.

I don't know...

Do you think the producers were furious at her for making this decision when there was no (for game shows) actual union reason to no show?

-or-

Do you think they had already decided to dump her and were waiting for an opportune time to pull the trigger?

It wasn't too long ago that they were singer her praises, complementing her on the job she was doing and noting they had her co-host as often as her TV acting schedule allowed, an arrangement they were pleased with. With her staying away, and having Ken host more often, maybe they decided the calculus changed.

I should mention that Jeopardy! has indeed been affected by the Hollywood strikes. The people who write the questions answers are WGA members and therefore on the picket lines. For season 40, contestants will be asked a mix of questions the writers crafted before the strike began and recycled questions from previous games (of which there's certainly no shortage). Who knows? Maybe the dreaded "Opera" category will return.

Because of this, Jeopardy! also plans to only welcome back previous contestants this season stating that, "...it would not be fair to have new contestants making their first appearance on the Alex Trebek stage, doing it with non-original material or… a combination of non-original material and material that was written pre-strike.” It's a nice sentiment but to me it just sounds like publicity prattle.
