DRAW is the only one whose past tense does not rhyme with "ought"
My guess, and it probably is a wrong guess is "Think" because all of the others require some use of the hands or legs.
To bring something you must carry it, to buy something you must complete some sort of exchange of funds, to catch something you use your hands, to draw you use your hands, to fight, you use your hands, to seek you are actively in motion, to teach you are probably writing something down on a chalkboard, to think, you can just sit still

Draw doesn't belong. It's the only verb whose past tense does not rhyme with "ought." (brought, bought, caught, fought, sought, taught, thought)

Think was my first idea also similar to your line of thinking. Then after looking under the spoiler I thought about it.

Excellent explanation, and the answer matches the one given. Thanks. (Thanks also to Ed -- ThatDonGuy was just quicker!) I had come up with several reasons that a word might not belong, but none of them was compelling at all, and I wouldn't have accepted them from someone else, so I didn't accept them from me.
I'm curious: you posted this answer just six minutes after I posted the question. Was the answer that obvious to you, or had you seen the question before?

If I have seen it before, I don't remember it, but every issue of Games Magazine has a word puzzle like this. You just get used to looking for certain things when you see this sort of puzzle.

I agree with you. All the other verbs involve interaction with physical stuff.
The spelling argument has nowhere near as much value.
I used to read a journal that occasionally quoted some puzzles out of Games Magazine, but I don't think I have ever read/seen the real magazine.

The spelling argument was an initial thought and fell by the wayside in about 5 minutes

Too easy. See, these word ones, I get them in like 5 seconds. It's the math ones where I just toss my hands up (figuratively) and check the spoiler.

I subscribed for about the first 5 years. I think I still have them in a box somewhere; I should look it up. Very enjoyable - they had a lot of interesting articles in glossy pages (maybe 32-40 pages of content, everything from reviews to math to development to history of games, some puzzles sprinkled in) and then about 8-12 page insert of pencil puzzles in each issue.
I'm almost sure it was started late 70's-early 80's by Bob Guccione (of Penthouse fame) but I could be wrong. It's still publishing, but by something called Kappa. Not sure what happened. Here's their website.
Edit: Wiki says it was Hefner/Playboy that started it in 1977.
Babs, don't ever throw out your old issues. I'd be interested in buying them, to complete my collection of the issues I don't have.

Noted, Ed. I'll start looking. I loved the earliest issues as well. Turns out Will Shortz was editing almost from the first, and for about 6 years. His first job like that, and I think I felt his twisted mind behind it from the beginning. His departure about matches with my noticing a decline in both their quality and my interest, as well as the price hike.
