The Village People will be appearing at Harrahs AC, Thursday Feb 12th if anyone is interested in getting the answer from the source. Assuming 5 minutes of Red Chip at a $5 BJ Table will be enough for VIP Meet and Greet tickets.

That's not a sailor in the Village People, it's a soldier.

It looks like you are both right. I always thought of him as a soldier but apparently he crosses over - no pun intended. :-)

For the "In The Navy" album he's wearing a sailor's hat. There are photos of him in US Navy camo blue fatigues and others in Marine Corps fatigues. He truly is a macho man.

Taking a wild guess here:

Returning a missed field goal? But I'm pretty sure this is wrong because I think Auburn scored on this against Alabama in a recent BCS championship game.

Yep, wrong :p. That can be a fun play though.
Some day I'd like to see Janikowski boot a 70 yarder this way. Seems plausible, since there's no pass rush.

I believe it has been attempted once in recent years, and was unsuccesful. I think the Lions in their 0-16 year had a 70 yarder they could have tried but didn't even bother, which confused me as Jason Hanson had the boot to try it at least. The last successful attempt was 1976.

We now all know that there has never been a one point safety in the NFL. What type of score has only happened once in the last 60+ years in the NFL and who is credited with that score?

Please use spoiler.

An offensive safety? Offense fumbled, defensive recovered, defense ran into wrong end zone. Forgot name. Big dude for Vikings, #70?

Not shy, so excited to see my idols in person I would be unable to speak coherently and would make a fool of myself. Plus I didnt play enough to get the VIP tickets. Red Chip place is just too risky for my bankroll.

You may be correct about that but that is not the score I am thinking of. The one I am thinking of happened in the last 10 years.

Yes, you are correct. It was that Quarterbacks last play in the NFL. I wonder how many non kickers have scored on their last play in the league.

I recall that one or more of the orignal members of the group died of AIDS, including the lead singer (the cop?). Can anyone confirm? Are there multiple touring companies of Village People groups, like the multiple Blue Man Groups?

Just took a look at the wiki article and it looks like one of the founders passed back on November 15, 1991. He was a founder but from what I was able to find he did not actually perform. The gentleman's name was Jacques Morali.

Drop kick for 3 points by Doug Flutie in his last ever game. Pats versus Buffalo as I recall.

EDIT : versus Miami, and only a PAT : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIQMq7JrSv8 - Flutie talks about it

That's happened twice then, because Kevin Smith for the Detroit Lions scored a offensive safety about 6 years ago.

Sorry to resurrect a dead thread, but the NFL has just changed the point after rules:

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000493347/article/nfl-moves-extra-point-to-15yard-line-for-2015-season

The major part, related to this thread, is that a blocked punt or intercepted/fumbled ball is live now, and can be returned for 2 points by the defence.
