Need suggestions and Amazon links for a wallet that can easily hold $10k+, not be bulky in pants pocket, close properly, etc. Bonus if the wallet looks fancy and makes me look like the typical high roller.

You want a wallet that can hold 100 bills without looking bulky? Air can't pull that off:-)

Most alpine Swiss wallets have a generous differential between the inner and outer cuts of leather (so, room for bills). As for bulk and closing, a key is to avoid spanning the center of the wallet. Some makers also carry extra capacity models.

But, if you don't care about looks, a large binder clip does work well.

Apologies in advance that this will be yet another reply that doesn't give the answer you're looking for. I have no idea what a really good wallet is, since I've never managed to find one.

But, in all seriousness, some of the real 'high roller' or at least what many would consider very well-off folks that I've been acquainted with are precisely the people who are the least likely to put on that appearance. So the Staples + Wal-Mart sweat pants thing above might really be a righteous answer, even if it isn't quite my own idea of unpretentious comfortable style that I'd choose.

But most seriously, I want to make a practical suggestion. At least I know it has practical value around the Las Vegas Strip if you are planning to visit around there, and probably some other places. That suggestion is DON'T put anything of value, definitely not a wallet with money & bank cards & ID, in your back pocket. No, no, no, and no. Pickpocket's delight. And there are some around who are pretty good at what they do, which is making sure you have a really bad day and a spoiled trip. Maybe you'll be lucky if you just go ahead and do that, a time or two or three or more, and nothing will happen. Or, maybe not. If someone makes a habit of it, at least on the LV Strip & some other places I know of, I'd bet on 'not' at least eventually.

Here is something that works for me that I learned the hard way to do a long time ago. I have a designated wallet living in my back pocket. It is cheap, but I guess at least halfway decent in appearance. It contains some joke money I got in quantity for almost nothing from a low-rent souvenir/novelty store, and a little note addressed to pickpockets & crooks. I have a bit of fun getting creative with the notes. Since I started doing that several decades ago, my designated thief wallets have disappeared at least twice that I can specifically recall at the moment, and probably at least a few other times that I can't. Anything I'd consider amounting to real money of some importance to me goes in a clip, which goes in a place that would've made my mama blush to reach for, and if anyone else ever has it I don't care anymore because if someone went there then I'm surely dead.

The best solution that I've found is to have the wallets custom made.

Mine are made of suit like material, so a nice pattern, and are shaped like an over sized envelope with a zipper at the top. Since they're made of fabric instead of leather they're very soft and aren't bulky. They fit very well into my front pants pocket. Since the wallets are only slightly smaller than the #10 size envelops (19 cm x 10cm), bills can fit in them straight, without folding. Consequently you can easily carry 20k in your wallet, and do so in your front pocket. Since they zip shut, you can also carry chips in them as well without worrying about high value casino chips falling out of your pockets. When gambling or going into high risk areas, its always a good idea to carry two of them. Keep smaller value bills in one wallet, and the larger value in the other.

Since you don't fold these cloth wallets they feel far less bulky and it's often tough to tell that you're even carrying them.

Hmmm. Those would be very easy to sew, I think. If guys are willing to carry a wallet that doesn't fold, I could probably do something with that.

Or maybe they're cheap online and I've just never shopped them. Seen many long-wallet choices for women, not too many for guys.

Travel stores often feature specialty wallets and motorcycle sites feature long wallets on a chain.

Obviously I have no need of a large-capacity wallet. None at all.

Yeah, but the point of this type wallet would be minimal bulk while holding 20k in hundreds, so most leather won't do. It would probably better fit a front pocket or cargo pocket than a back pocket: those are too shallow. Or an inner jacket pocket.

I saw one jacket wallet that was right, except no zipper, and it was thin leather rather than cloth, but it also cost $455. Otherwise all very bulky.

If someone genuinely wants me to try and spec something up, let me know. I'm a decent seamstress.

A Mexican stoke my wallet a while ago (hashtag build the wall) and I had to get a new one. I went to WalMart (sigh) to get a wallet and figured I’d may as well make sure my new wallet could actually hold some money. Grabbed one, stuffed $5k in it. Wouldn’t close. Tried the next one, same thing. A few more, no good. Then I found one that worked decently enough and I knew it’d stretch out over time, so I decided to go with that one. Then I looked to my side and some dude looking at me like I was crazy.

If you go with the Adidas track suit idea, don’t forget about the Nike Air shoes and to do squats randomly. Vodka helps, too.

I don’t really like money clips or rubber bands to hold my normal money with. I like having a wallet so I can hodl my players cards, ID, and insurance crap. If I need to hodl more money, then yeah, obvii go with rubber bands. Or if you’re fancy, get yourself some straps.

It's by far better to NOT fold your money because it will wad up and create a big tumor like lump in your pocket if you do fold it. The bills also don't become bent up and you can easily carry twice as much if you don't fold them.
The flat fabric zipper wallet is as good as it gets. Credit cards, room keys...they all fit nicely. The depth of the front pants pocket is ideal for it. 19 cm x 10 cm.
The small zipper also provides peace of mind.

It doesn't bulk up that bad and the money doesn't bend that much. Even if it does bend a bit you can just bend it back the other way a few times. Even with a slight bend, who cares? Did they stop taking bent money here in Vegas? I can see if some fat ass is trying to pull off some tight fitting skinny jeans while trying to cram a wallet in his back pocket. I don't like a wallet in my front pocket as it thumps against my leg when I walk, plus I ant got much room to spare in that area.

I would suspect most people who carry more money than they can fit in their wallet just fold it with a rubber band.

Many men have a blind spot about this - carrying phones, wallets, small paperback books and other bulky items in your sports coat will make your torso look unattractively big. Its hard for men to see it on themselves. But your attractiveness to women will certainly go down. Its like wearing clothes that don't fit.

Most cigarette packs are foil-paper lined for freshness. I don't know if their machines can see through those, although the strip embedded in 100's might really flare on the xrays. The foil is extremely thin.

I've probably gotten thru 300 checkpoints in 40 yrs of flying, probably always had at least 1 pack of cigarettes on me, don't recall a single time they looked in the cig box, even when they were squeezing out my toothpaste or confiscating my mascara.

If they find it and you don't claim it, it can be seized. However if you claim it, it can be seized. Read an article recently about how a man traveling abroad with his life savings about $60,000 had it seized, and he knew about the laws, had bank statements, etc. Doesn't seem like anyone has figured this out yet, how to travel with large amounts of cash safely. You can't just go everywhere and demand cash unfortunately, besides casinos. Once you get it, it's hard to deal with.

I bought one of those wallets which allow you to hold your money flatly. It barely fits in my front pocket, kind of worried it's a pick pocket's dream because it just barely is covered in my pocket. If it wasn't so hot out, I'd wear a jacket with an inside breast pocket. I get kind of hot in some circumstances wearing a jacket indoors, which kind of lets the problem come back.
