I've never even heard of the Atlantic Club. Who is behind them?
It's not whether you win or lose; it's whether or not you had a good bet.

Colony Capital. It is the old AC Hilton and lost its brand like the LVH in Vegas owned by the same people. It was the Golden Nugget that was Steve Wynn first try in AC many years ago.

They are trying to be a locals casino and were actually making progress before Sandy.

That's what you get for not reading every post.
Just kidding.

But seriously, as mentioned, it was the original AC Golden Nugget, and eventually became the AC Hilton.

As the Atlantic Club, the niche it's carving out is that of a local's casino. Toward that end, player's club points can be redeemed at local businesses not affiliated with the casino. More info: http://www.atlanticclubcasino.com/locals

I read somewhere the beach will be reduced from over 100 feet to less than 25 feet from the boardwalk to the Ocean ? At least I got to see the Diving Horse once !

I wonder if Atlantic City movie is on Netflix? Or better yet, Field of Dreams. Burt Lancaster nailed it as
" Dr. Archibald 'Moonlight' Graham " I have 2 childhood friends who never made it to the big league
while guys who used steroids did. It would have made their years in the minors worthwhile to just have
played in the big leagues once. Just called up at seasons end. SIGH

Field of broken dreams, small and large. !

I get the fun part for the casual player but playing an ante game is just throwing money away. If you play 100 hands per hour you're renting the chair for a whopping $25 per hour. That money goes straight to the tray before the hand is dealt.

Not everyone is a dedicated card counter who can recite Basic Strategy in their sleep and do basic arithmetic flawlessly all day and night.

Impromptu players who say let's head to the casino for the day still bring in alot of money and keep the dealers at the tables.

Taking care of the bottom feeders is still part of the job that casinos do.

local marketing tie ins are a big thing in the industry right now. Points go on your casino card and come off at various local merchants as you choose. The casinos appear to be very friendly to local merchants and build a base of support in the community.
