Reading the Atlantic City numbers for Feb 2013, I wonder why Harrah's Resorts is consistently near the top in revenue and profits. It is a dump in my opinion, there's nothing more redeeming about it than other properties like Bally's, Caesars, Showboat, Taj Mahal, etc. I can understand why Borgata makes more money, there is a much better atmosphere there. But Harrah's? Why does it do so well?

Borgata spillover.
10 eyes for an eye. 10 teeth for a tooth. 10 bucks for a buck?! Hit the bad guys where it hurts the most: the face and the wallet.

They have 30 other decent casinos funnelling loyal customers into that property. I get offers to fly and play at Harrah's every month or two. For some reason, they don't send the same invite for Caesar's, Bally's, or Showboat.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

This. Plus, the non-gambling attributes are far above the city's average. Pool, night club, buffet & Bills.

All the Harrah's junket flights to AC are offers for Harrah's Atlantic City only. They don't offer you the Boardwalk properties.

I agree that it is not a very nice property.

I actually like the Hotel/Casino more than Caesars AC, but always stay there because of the boardwalk, local restaurants and shopping that we can walk to. The Waterfront Tower and Bayview both have nice modern rooms and the casino floor is larger than Caesars AC.

I also agree that the Pool attracts business from families during the day and the party crowd at night that the other properties dont have. And once you get them in the door, many will gamble.

Children are not allowed to use The Pool at Harrahs...the one under the dome...day or night...it's 21+.

They have another pool in the Harbor Tower for families with kids.
