Wife, gson and I are heading to reno area sometime in May ,have not been in several years.Looking for advice on where to stay (or not stay)and where to find best BJ. I have only played 6-deck shoe games h17,no surender. Would like to maybe take in a show and play some bingo, slots and VP. Traveling with 2 dogs also, ugh. Seems most casinos are not pet freindly. The research I have done so far seems a bigs difference in room rates.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Apparently the Grand Sierra and the Sands are dog-friendly.

Sands is a dump and I would never recommend it. Grand Sierra is away from all of the other casinos so you won't be able to walk around. You will need transportation to the downtown casinos. Harrah's which is in walking distance to the other major downtown casinos has what they call PetStay rooms. There is a limited number so make a reservation ahead of time.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

Thanks for info.Wifes sister told us not to stay at Sands so of course that is where she wanted to stay but now we will be finding another local. Harrahs may works as its close to other casinos.

The Grand Sierra is right near the airport. The Peppermill is very nice but only service dogs are welcomed. Reno hotels are more spread out then Vegas. Downtown you have Harrah's which is pet friendly. On Fri. and Sat. night the hot girls come in and deal BJ $5 min. single deck and 6 deck chute. I'm comped at Harrah's Lake Tahoe for 2 nights and Harrah's Reno for 2 nights next month can't wait. Have a great trip.

Trip is getting closer, gettin antsy.Any one know if any of the down town casinos has any UTH tables? Seems local tribal casinos here in oregon have better BJ rules so would like to play something I have never tried besides online practice ay Woo.Looks like we will be staying at one of Harrahs petstay rooms. Planning on not driving around much should be enough casinos close by to clean us out.

I used to like Harrah's but it's pretty sweaty for BJ. I got BO'd there for spreading 1 X $5 to 2 X $15. I would try to get a Rewards Cards before you go there because you might get free rooms before you get there; they are handing out free rooms like nothing and I'm a red chipper. The buffet is OK. CalNeva has nice low mins but it can be a little sweaty depending on the shift/PC. My favorite in Reno is The Silver Legacy. The place was remodeled a few years ago and is the classiest looking place. Their 6D, DD on ANY number of cards including after split with $5 min to $3000 max BJ tables are, as far as I know, the best in Reno; BTW their free drinks are probably the best on Reno. Get a player's card since I believe they are pretty good with food comps. I think the rooms are good and they have a walk way between the SL, El Dorado and Circus Circus. The Cafe Sedona on the walk way is good. A little pricey but good. Also look at the Food Court in the SL for deals. El Dorado's buffet is probably the best in Reno; and it's only $1 more than Harrah's. Also, if you go drive out of town to Boomtown they have all SD and a Peet's Coffee too! I have to step out right now and will give you more info on show when I get back.
