I'm sure those of you familiar with the Revel's incompetence will be shocked to learn they are revamping their players card program...again.

Just got in the mail my "invitation" to join their new program for 2013...The new levels are, in order, "Ocean".."Beach"..and "Pearl". The levels and benefits seem similar to the TR system run by CET properties.

This is the third redo of their half-ass (maybe quarter-ass?) system, since opening last spring. Yet another example of their slow spin down the drain. Why didn't they just do this in the beginning...one can only wonder.

Yes indeed - I received mine as well.
They had everyone on a 4 tier level earlier (4 being the highest)
Apparently anyone who was Tier 4 will not automatically be put into the "Pearl" category
All former Tier 4 players will be reduced to "Beach" level and given the opportunity to re-qualify for the "Pearl" level.

(The only exception I have heard is for about 200 players who all have credit lines of $250k or more)

Hey, first bill is only 56K. Josie beat me with 58K. And I don't have my reading glasses on. Thought that was $250 line of credit.
Would need a co-signer for that, probably.

So as a Level 3 player do I start at Ocean or Beach(not Pearl I assume, if level 4 players don't qualify). The mailer is very unclear on this. Not that it matters much they'll change the program/be out of business in 6 months anyway....just curious?

How hard do you have to work to build a casino, and then turn it into a losing proposition?
There are only a few hundred/ or thousand working models to choose from

It appears that if you added all the players from November revenuw report up, they might have 10 Pearl Cards out there total. There is no hope for this place until Kevin and UKStages have no input in how it is run.

There is no hope no matter how many times UKStages defends their policies.

Whatever. However, it seems that most smoking gamblers despise Revel, and are wishing for change of management. They can't wait to make that place stinky, smelly and filthy. Having said that it also appears that majority of the gamblers (from several other forums) are craving for free lodging, free food at Revel, and other freebies at Revel.

As someone who appreciates the freedom to smoke a cig at the craps table, I will be happy to be able to point at the Revel as a case study.
Its - Possessive; It's - "It is" / "It has"; There - Location; Their - Possessive; They're - "They are"

No it is not the smoking policy and most people that complain about Revel like that policy. It is the poor attitute toward players that Kevin has had from Day 1. Tell someone that they are not important and only a small part of someones business, and make it seem like they are doing you a favor by having a casino in their resort and you are going to get the feelings that prevail about Revel.

Revel is not the case study on smoking versus non-smoking in a casino because of how poorly they have run it. And sending someone like Comical Ali (UKStages) out to defend it day after day makes it worse. Trying to blame the Unions instead of looking in mirror once again shows how they still dont understand the game in AC.

And when you look at how much they have dropped in play since summer shows that people tried it and didnt like it.

"Every other casino in AC wants to give me a free room. As much as I like the nonsmoking policy and Revel's gorgeous property, I simply will not pay for a room or a meal in a casino anymore. I just can't justify it"

That is exactly why I'm not going back. I gave them plenty of action and got bupkus in comps. Every other property in town is happy to have me. So why spend money somewhere where I'm not wanted.

Plenty of action is a subjective term - does not mean a thing.

With my action, I can get free rooms at most CET properties in LV (reduced rates at Caesar), but no dice at Aria, Cosmo or Wynn. So the choice is to be a cheapskate, and live in junky rooms or stay at elegant places.

My complaint about Revel is their lack of table game variety. They have no UTH,THB ,MISS STUD,Flop Poker,Crazy four poker etc.. Also to enter the property from the boardwalk is a pita.

Of course "plenty of action" is subjective...but it's enough action for every other casino in town to comp me a room anytime I want. So I'm thinking, crap like this is why the Revel is totally getting their ass kicked by almost every other casino in town. Despite spending over a billion dollars on a really first class facility and then turning their nose up at good customers.

Amen. This is type of stuff UKStages and Kevin use to tell players that their play, while good enough for every other casino, is not good enough for them. And they wonder why they brought in only 6 Milion in Nov and will be in the 9-10 range for December. For every step forward they made they still cant get past telling players They need Revel more than Revel needs them.

But, but, but.....most every other casino on boardwalk is motel 6 variety. Some have bed bugs, some have pest infestation in kitchen.

Aceofspades still gets comped rooms, and food. May be Revel is looking for that kind of action from BJ players. As I said before my action gets me comped rooms in LV from most CET properties, but nothing from Aria, Cosmo or Wynn.

Bhappy, I've stayed in every casino hotel in AC over the last 10 years or so, say 20 nights a year. So I've stayed hundreds of nights. None of them are motel 6 variety. The worst room at any of these places is better than your average EconoLodge/Motel 6 type joint. I've never encountered bed bugs or anything of that variety. Keep in mind these are big hotels. Are there maybe occasional incidents of something like you are talking about. Probably. Do some of these places have issues, with upkeep and maintenance. Yes. But to lump all hotels in AC as having bed bugs and pests in the kitchen is ludicrous. With some very rare exceptions, I've had nothing but good experience's at pretty much all the hotels in town. The people who work there (again with rare exceptions) bust their butts to take care of the guests and maintain the facility to the best of their ability/budget. So maybe take it easy slamming an entire town of hospitality workers, and the places they work.

Hey....then you should stay at those places. May be they don't have issues, but the fact remains that every time you stay/play in a smoking joint your lungs are bit more damaged then before. And all of them do stink with smoke.

It truly amazes me how executives who should be the 'thought leaders' of the casino industy can screw up a multi billion dollar casino project like Revel.... even with the help of the state. It doesnt take a GED to have known that you need to cater to the players to thrive in AC. People are not going to AC for the AC experience or entertainment... Perhaps summer time one could make a case but not the other 8 months of the year.

The place is HUGE and the casino floor is puny... it really is a joke. They didnt even make it sexy. It is a flat out failure. Tax payer dollars gone to waste again. Someone should have given them the memo that there are casinos being built everywhere and AC is not the only destination anymore on the east coast. They need to be lean, sexy, and cater to the players. No more bankrupting Trump style.

I've never been to AC to gamble, so excuse my ignorance.

However, if I'm reading this right, they are taking their top level players, and forcing them to "re-qualify" for that level under the new system? Wow.

While I can see where they might think it will make their high rollers have to come in and spend more money betting in the short term, the long term reality is most of those people will tell the casino to GFT and go to other properties. That is an amazingly stupid idea.

Let us put this in prespective. If you were a top level player in LV for CET or MLIfe, should Wynn automatically shower you with all the freebies for life? Wynn might give you a trial period, but then you will have to 'earn' that level.

In case of Revel, they gave out dozens of comped nights (to individuals) by matching their tier level. But those player did not have the required production. They came, got free money, stayed for free, ate for free, but played at their original properties to manitain their tier level. I believe they had six months to prove their tier level 'worth'.

So in case of Revel they would have, or would go bankrupt either way. The loyalty cards of CET or Borgata are extremely powerful. If they had continued catering to something for nothing crowd they would have gone bankrupt. Now that something for nothing crowd won't come, and they will still go bankrupt.

The noise I hear/read on various forums are from players - something for nothing crowd- who are dying to stay at the luxurious place for free, but have no desire to give them business (and Please no more the words like Plenty of Action, they are meanigless).

No, if you are a new player, you come in an earn your status. I don't have an issue with that.

If they were given their tier level based on their play at other properties, and not by earning it at Revel originally, then I have no problem with that Revel is doing. If they had six months to prove their tier level and failed, that is on the customers.

If they are a "something for nothing" player, how did they get to the top tier at other properties?
