I hope all the cheap pens I've walked off with from sports books over the years isn't considered stealing.

THere's a huge difference between picking up a pen and accidentally walking off with it, and what the guy in that video did.
I mean, Holy crap! He TOTALLY stole that pen. ON TV!
And it was painfully obvious, even without the graphics. And it looks like the other guy knows it, but didn't want to say anything.

At the office I keep buying boxes of cheap ballpoint pens, because they all disappear. From desks, from the common areas, from the meeting room. It's ridiculous.

I've found that if you take the caps off the ballpoint pens, it cuts down on the "walkaways". Folks are reluctant to put an uncapped pen in their pocket or purse.
