President Obama courts the black vote. He will follow this up with a tour of Hawaii, New England and New York. It's those swing states that will get him this time.

The map will likely turn back to what we saw in 200/2004. If it does he is done what with the shifting electoral votes.

What I have not seen but wonder if the will do is a "voter balance" poll. IOW, how many people voted for him shifting away vs how many against shift to for him. I think he has lost far more than he has gained. 2010 proves people have not liked his policies.

He's wasting his time courting anybody. I don't believe he has a chance of beating any Republican after his fiasco called his "1st term".

Well, he's only hoping to raise $1 billion.
If he loses the four states that he just barely won last time Indiana, Ohio, Florida, North Carolina plus Michigan then it's a tie.

To me, that's the rub. Republicans, and even the mainstream media, make a big deal about how he's in trouble. But then polls show that even Huckabee can't match him in NC and even Romney can't match him in MI. He'll lose IN (unless the GOP nominates Bachmann or Palin), but Obama doesn't even appear to be in trouble in NC or MI (or NM, NV, or CO).

Of course, support for the Republican Nominee will consolidate somewhat once the primaries are winding down (a year from now!), but right now it doesn't even look like the Big O is in trouble. The support he's lost nationally has come in places that just don't matter electorally. Plus, the GOP is hell-bent on F'ing itself. $1T cut from Medicaid?!? Hey Paul Ryan, Florida called...they say "Screw You, young man!"

I think he will win, myself. Because of the census 6 electoral college votes switched sides with the same states.

Assuming Obama loses his all four of his close calls from last election, the Republican candidate still needs more than 16 additional votes.

NC 50.17% 2,142,651 49.83% 2,128,474 14,177
IN 50.52% 1,374,039 49.48% 1,345,648 28,391
FL 51.42% 4,282,074 48.58% 4,045,624 236,450
OH 52.31% 2,933,388 47.69% 2,674,491 258,897

In order to get those 16 votes the Republican candidate would have to turn NM, CO, and NV. (20 votes now)

Right now with Republicans scrambling around like a bunch of spoiled children, nobody can match up to him even with his low approval rating. But when this thing gets close and people see the mess he's made and the Republicans keep hammerring away at the unreal deficit he's created, he won't have a chance. His only hope is an economy turnaround unmatched in history. Even then, people may be so weary over his inexperience that the Independents will vote for anybody but him.
