Look at the reaction time of the white cat. This demonstrates how cats are never really totally asleep they're always on the alert and can become instantly fully cognizant. Ever see a cat fight a snake in a video? The snake doesn't have a chance the cat always wins. They are unbelievably fast.

He wouldn't survive in my house, I never have that much food.

Quote: EvenBobIt was a sore trial for one of my cats. Yesterday afternoon I got something out of one of my curio cabinets and a half grown tabby cat got into the bottom shelf and I didn't see him and I closed the door. Today when I get up I'm in the kitchen and I'm hearing meowing but it sounds like it's coming from a long ways away and I wander around and it stops and so I forget about it. A couple hours later I'm walking by this curio cabinet I happen to look down and there's a cat in there! Boy was he glad to see me. I immediately picked him up and he started purring and purring and snuggling me and I took him into my office and he ate half a can of food. He followed me around for the rest of the day trying to trip me up. I opened the door of the curio cabinet later and he ran right back in. Cats are idiots.

Poor baby, my cats have begun opening doors to cabinets to go in for sleep. As far as I know they have always been able to get out themselves.
