That is sweet. Did you get a dog?

I don't even have a yellow cat let alone a dog. My dog days are done, they're way too much work. Dogs always want something from you cats hardly ever do

I don't find dogs to be a lot of work. Of course, I do have a fenced in backyard so I don't have to take them for walks.

Back when I had dogs I went away all the time because I worked and I always had to take the dog with me because I couldn't leave him here alone he would go crazy. And that turns into a real pain in the butt when it goes on for years. Then you have to walk them every day and you always feel guilty with a dog like you aren't doing enough.

I agree that travelling is a pain with dogs. We try to get a dog sitter to stay at our house or if that doesn't work out they go to puppy play camp for a week or two. I wouldn't consider that work, but definitely an expense.

It's hilarious because I posted this picture above this morning then I went outside and started clearing brush with my handy dandy electric 10-in chainsaw and I got carried away and missed feeding the cats by about 45 minutes. When I came back in they were all waiting for me by the door staring at me I started laughing because believe me they know what time it is. I love my electric chainsaw, it's the handiest tool I've ever had for working outside. It's lightweight and cuts through all kinds of brush instantly, makes me feel like I'm Superman of the Woods. Where was this 30 years ago when I needed it

You'll not hear a tale like Greyfriars Bobby about a cat.

Quote:Cats have vertical pupils primarily to enhance their hunting abilities and vision in low-light conditions. The vertical slit shape of the pupil allows for greater depth perception, particularly useful for ambush predators like cats, and it also maximizes the amount of light entering the eye in dim environments.

He should have stayed at the Hemingway House in Key West, they have over 60 cats.
It was a sad day when our cat died. With great solemnity, my 3-year-old daughter and I brought it outside to the yard, dug a hole, and buried it.
After we said a few words, I looked down at her, expecting to see tears in her eyes.
Instead, she said excit-edly, "Now let's go bury the dog!"

Quote: EvenBobThis is 100% true and it's why I never buy stuff like this for the cats. Instead I have step ladders, six step ladders of different sizes. 8 ft, 7 ft, two that are 6 ft and two that are 4 ft. And I have wood planks running between them in different directions. It's like a cat maze and they love it there's always cats sleeping on the shelves and on the steps.

A former coworker of mine discovered the same thing while renovating her house. The cats loved the ladders and scaffolding.
After the work was done, one of the ladders stayed up in the corner. Every time she needed to change a lightbulb, she'd borrow the cat tree to climb...

Cats love high places where they can look down on everything and ladders are perfect for that. Cats love climbing on things that's why I have planks running between the ladders. The whole setup is usually covered with cats. I also have a bunch of shallow boxes with pillows in them. Put a pillow out by itself and maybe a cat will sleep on it. Put a pillow in a box and it will be full of cats.

maybe add the caption "what did you eat today"Quote: EvenBob

Here is the same box an hour later. The kitten is the one that's upside down. Six idiots in one box. I have five boxes like this one and they all have pillows and all the other boxes were empty because they all have to get into one box.

Looking at how precariously that cat is balanced on the pirate's thigh and the choppy nature of the waves, I predict someone will soon have a badly scratched leg.
