They need to change every sign, every menu, and a gazillion other things that include the apostrophe.
PJs has bit hit with bad press based on its founders actions and a perception it is involved in extreme politics so it is attempting to rebrand itself.
The company has thousands of franchises which mean each owner now has to replace their signs, uniforms, etc, etc.
This reminds me of AC in the early 90s when Trump decided to start using the J in his name and spent millions to change the signage and discard millions of pieces of stationary and menus that lacked the J. A friend that worked for the Taj was given tens of thousands of matchbooks and coasters that were now obsolete.
CVS/Pharmacy finally dropped the /. The reason they had the / in the first place is because CVS merged with Caremark, so they were CVS/Caremark for awhile, then all that was left of Caremark was the / in CVS/Pharmacy.
It's something that amuses me, but I assume 99.9% of America doesn't know the significance.

I'm guessing they spend around $35,000,000 and don't get much for it.
Deciding that a business name is negative equity is expensive.

The franchise or the franchisees? Papa Johns (depending on how many stores are corporate owned) will probably make a killing on it as all of the individual locations have to buy crap from them related to the rebrand. That's why hotel logos are changed every few years.
???Quote: MrVReminds me how they agonized a bit in sin city years ago while trying to decide whether to be called "Caesar's Palace" or "Caesars Palace."

That was a decision that Jay Sarno made when he was still building it.
Every customer is treated like a Caesar, therefore its a palace for multiple Caesars to congregate rather that a place owned by Caesar.
Thats because theyre trying to separate themselves from Kentucky since they are international and the Kentucky part is meaningless in too many places,Quote: SOOPOOKFC used to be Kentucky Fried Chicken.

and they offer healthy(?) non-fried foods too,

Organization. I'm not sure which buckets are gazintas and gazottas, but I figure around $10,000 at each of the roughly 3500 stores.
the other week i went to wind creek and sometimes for the hell of it i pick up flyers
there responsible gaming brochure was just butchered by the graphic artist in the sense that the entire text was repeated on the front and back
i went to the desk and mentioned it to them and it was changed the next week or so

Yes, that is how Sarno decided to do it, but it was contrary to what you'd expect he'd name it.
I erred sayng "agonized over."

The version I heard about Kentucky was, the state had trademarked the name "Kentucky" (it lets only the Kentucky Derby use it for free) and KFC didn't want to pay any royalties.
