He is also Jewish, so he is obviously questioning if he still has a place in today’s Democratic Party.

Probably.

Of the 37 Jewish people currently serving in Congress, 34 are Democrats.

Two are Republicans, and one is Independent.

But to get back on topic, looks like there's over 50 people now involved in this scandal.

I don't know about UT, but UCLA is a highly selective school. For the Fall of 2018, they received 113,755 Freshman applications and admitted 15,970, or 14% of them. They are by far the most desired campus in the University of California system.

Yea, but 90,000 of them were illegals...

Hehe... Actually, there's a state law preserving Obama's "Dreamer" program ignoring legal visa status for applicants who took their last couple years of school in California, no matter how they got there. So, could be...

Edit: To me, this is a classic example of supply and demand economics. I'm not surprised a "black white market" opened when the demand exceeds the supply by such a large margin.

It is ridiculous how so many people talk about the rich this and the rich that. Jealousy! We live in a country where the people who work smarter and harder can achieve great success regardless of race, religion, nationality, etc. Stop complaining people and just make it happen!

Why is this no real big surprise?

It is all a joke to those outside this little club. In one group you have mostly upper class whites but more than a few asian families dropping crazy amounts of cash to get their kids into the elite circle. The kids are just collecting activities at school to give a quantity that no normal person could do. All kinds of coaching to grind out that last 1% on the SAT and essay. All for this little game to fit in the keyhole just perfect.

Meanwhile the universities don't want so many whites and asians hanging around so they chase any minority they find and rig the system so they can get in without the school going before SCOTUS to defend discrimination based on race.

All the while once the kids get in to most of these schools they all end up with A or B grades in all their classes due to grade inflation.

The part of society enamored with paper laps it up year after year. Those of us who took the red pill laugh at them.

Geez. It doesn't matter what it is, you have to dump your bitter resentment all over it. Lighten up, for God's sake.

Not a popular opinion around here with some. Bringing up Personal Responsibility and results of Life Choices subjects one to calls of racism, ignorance, being Unsympathetic to others and more.

Strange when we have a lot of highly financially successful members on here who have all made it in many different ways. One can only assume some of them feel they are “special” and the average American could never do what they did.

You don't even have to work smart OR hard to get rich. Many rich people were just in the right place at the right time. And even working smart and hard is no guarantee you'll get rich anyway. And just because you make $10 million a year doesn't mean you've worked 200 times harder than the guy making $50,000 a year. So, really there's no rhyme or reason to it, other than if you do work smarter and harder you're probably more likely to end up wealthy.

But I agree there's too much complaining going on with rich and/or well-off people.

I feel like this has been discussed before. It is what it is. I dont feel higher than anyone else. Ive made very poor decisions in my life. Ive been at the bottom of the ocean without anyone handing me a life jacket or oxygen tank. I made good things happen in my life all on my own. Hard work, dedication, more hard work, tenacity, smart approach... and good things come. Never leached on the system. Never took a hand out from anyone. Just worked extremely hard and figured how to make it happen on my own. (and this is not referring to craps... although that has been good too.. ha)

Ive seen just about everything. Our country is the greatest nation in the world. It is the land of opportunity. I have a great big heart and help those who need help constantly. I ask of nothing in return. I believe in the saying... give without expecting something in return, and you will never be disappointed.

Resentment? I am smiling ear to ear over this thing. Little clubby system gets gamed. People who love the exclusivity game the same exclusivity. And they did it by paying a tax deductible contribution when they say they did not need their tax cut years ago.

When you thought that whole group was as shallow as they could be it turns out they drained even more out of the pool.
Tolerance is the virtue of believing in nothing
