Correct me if I'm wrong, but I view the only importance to party membership is a say in that party's primaries.

Pretty much correct in an official sense. I have heard from some people, almost always in some sort of public sector work, who have stated that their promotion in career could be stopped by having the "wrong" registration. Might be a few places where you need the right registration to get a traffic ticket fixed or stuff like that.

The drinks in Vegas are free.

That is the illusion presented by the Adult Disney World known as Las Vegas...but it is a fantasy just like those created at Disney!

The cost is included in the price of the House Advantage. Play games with a negative house edge, and the cost of the drinks is negative

There were quite a candidates I liked that ran in 2016 -- actually most of them except for Trump and Hillary. Most all of them are now blocked by the incumbent, and Bernie is too old (along with Biden). Of all the national level politicians, I really like Doug Jones. His opponent was a child molester and he had enough decency to stay out of that mess and campaign on the issues. His biggest drawback is that he's funny looking. The mayor of LA, Garcetti, seems like the best parts of both Obama and Romney -- and I would love for Trump to lose to a Mexican. A California Democrat who has spent his time in office cutting the city budget.

The most perfect presidential candidate would be Oscar, but he looks like he might not even be alive in 2020. There's always Sandoval in 2024. By that time I might be able to forgive him for his billion dollar tax increase he dumped on us.

As always, the most important issue is how can I make money betting on it?

I disagree that the drinks are part of the HA. In the Midwest, you have to pay for all drinks, and guess what, the games have no better odds.

That means, if I travel to Vegas, the drinks are free.

Since the purpose of free drinks is to make the gambler "looser" and stupider with his decision making wouldnt that be included in the HA in a negative direction

You would be "paying" for your drinks alright

The casinos have no qualms about over-serving people and allowing over-served people to play. It helps them separate players from their money.

We are in total agreement

So when people get free drinks they come at the cost of making stupid gambling decisions due to inebriation

That was my point

Don't give up, Babs!

They get all the West except for California, Washington, Oregon and Las Vegas...which is incorporated as part of California as well as the wee little bit South of Las Vegas.

What the hell is wrong with you. Do not incorporate us into California. I refuse to pay state taxes.

I would not be shocked to see Sandoval. He is good looking and Hispanic which is enough to get elected.

Know your rights. Be lawyered up if necessary. Document, BUT I stand with the same answer. Everyone should want a full and fair investigation UNLESS you have something to hide.

So in other words, yes, you would let them search your car?

Quote: Mission146

Um...I mean, yes, if he asks. I've been pulled over and they've asked to search on one occasion, I don't hold because I don't smoke, so why would I say no? Out of principle? No thanks. I figure if I am polite and say yes, everything will be fine. If I say no, they'll get a warrant, plant evidence and off to jail I go.

I'm not sure if I'm shocked with these answers.....but now that I think of it, it makes total sense.
