Quote: onenickelmiracleYou have these three things on a plate, which is the first bite? Is there a perfect answer to this question? Does it matter?
I go least likes to most liked. Might as well end the meal on a good note.

I picked the sandwich. If there was some kind of finger food side dish, like fries or onion rings, I'd pop one of those in my mouth first.

No.

No.
I don't want to taint the responses, so I'm going to not comment. Pickle boy upthread, is wrong, but not if you're a pickle boy. VCU, didn't mean to offend, just forgot your name, so I called you pickle boy.Quote: TigerWuI picked the sandwich. You were a pickle boy, now you're a pickle man.Quote: mcallister3200First bite pickle, then intermittent with the sandwich. Probably searching for the trash can with the potato/mac salad unless I haven’t ate in 20+ hours.
So I guess you can say my vote is slightly biased.
If one choice was fries, then that’s it but only because they’re right there, waiting to be grabbed...
I tried it before I posted. It felt weird. There were two pickles too. Threw the second out. Guess I should say it was a large pickle wedge, but not a full pickle. There was another comment from a pickle lover, he obviously didn't vote.Quote: VCUSkyhawkI am still the only pickle vote. I always seem to be in the minority opinion.
I'd probably say vote potato salad and consider it fries. I'm not sure I could make such a move. I'd be too afraid I'd eat too many fries before I began on the sandwich, that could be some dilemma. I have some fear the side would blind me from the taste of the sandwich, that's the first thing I want to know, is the main course any good or not, that's what I'm paying for.Quote: DJTeddyBearI hate pickles. And potato salad. And macaroni salad.

Who thought “hey, maybe I should drench this pasta in mayonnaise” and thought it would be a good idea?
I mean, it works out, but sounds so so bad in theory.
Don’t eat food out of order, that’s just wrong.
Edit: You talking s*** on mayonnaise, boy? Them some fightin’ words, I’ll tell you hwat.

Naw I love mayo.
Chik Fil A has the best Mayo. I put 4 packets of it on my chicken sandwich, which is probably why I have high cholesterol at age 26.
But does mayo on spaghetti sound good?
This can vary depending on the cook/chef that runs the kitchen.
Why one bite of side dish first?
1. To stimulate my taste buds and take the urgency out of eating the prime rib sandwich, so I can enjoy it.
2. A little bit as a safeguard against awful food - I'd rather be alerted that the food is really terrible with potato salad before putting rancid meat in my mouth.
3. For convenience in achieving the above objectives - the side dish is broken up and a simple motion with a fork will give me a bite-sized amount, whereas the prime rib sandwich with a dip is a more complicated undertaking.
If this answer seems silly, remember it was a silly question.
That does even the field a little. This option makes things a little more unpredictable, almost random.Quote: JimmyChipsSandwich all the way! If the side wasn't a cold salad but fries instead the fries would beat the sandwich!
