That's pretty common in omelettes.
Oncle Jacques describes it as "very moist and tender".
I love coffee, always have, always will
I drink 3 cups in the morning
but I get bored drinking the same coffee 3 times
so I drink 3 different kinds of coffee instead

IF YOU ARE GOING TO SAY YOU DONT HAVE ANY BREAD BOWLS AT LEAST DONT KEEP THEM IN PLAIN VIEW!
I’m quite surprised a chef would use a metal fork to scrape around a nonstick pan. Should use wooden utensils that won’t scrape up the teflon. Not something you want to eatQuote: DieterQuote: Ace2Markus Clark,

In general, I agree.
In the specific case of Jacques Pepin, I have a feeling that any pan manufacturer will gladly give him a new set of pans to shill use in his next video.
Personally, I use disposable (bamboo?) chopsticks, but that takes a bit of dexterity.
The issue is that eating Teflon is very bad for you
I'm meeting up with some strangers for a two and a half-mile walk/climb to one of Gerinomo's last hideouts so I wanted a big breakfast today.
I'd saved a couple of ounces of last night's flank steak so I made a four egg omelet, with ricotta, parmesan, and mozzarella cheese along with the sliced steak and a few pieces of diced tomato. I thought I might be overloading the device but it came out better than any previous effort. Maybe the key is to fill the thing to capacity. A couple of drops of hot sauce and it was a delightful breakfast on the veranda.
A few months ago I'd never have contemplated making this hike and the only eggs I ate were on a sausage and egg croissant from Burger King.
I suggested that we go out for a steak dinner but most restaurants were already booked up. Of course, we ended up at what I think is my favorite restaurant chain. Waffle House. I ordered the T-Bone steak and the wife had the sirloin. With drinks the total was $29. There were no other patrons in the restaurant the whole time we ate.
A Christmas Eve tradition has been born.
Last night we talked, let’s go somewhere and do something a bit different, as the past few days we went to a couple of movies, a few restaurants, Dave & Buster’s with the kids, shopping malls till we can’t shop any more, all kinds of places and events.
So I grabbed a total of $5,000.00 from my baccarat bank roll and told the gang I would meet them later at the casino steakhouse where I made reservations. I got some stares, like that’s different?
At the set time I left the casino floor rendezvoused with them, $100 comp in hand and a free bottle of wine or champagne $75 value or less, second comp in hand. Probably equivalent to about $40 each on the outside of the casino property and as well a $3,000.00 exact win in my pocket. Kinda basking in the thought of the casino handing me over 30 brand new hundred dollar bills at the cashiers and hearing that, “Merry Christmas Sir” coming from their personnel while I was cashing out and the long walk to the steakhouse!!
I thought to have a little different set up for the meal, where as everything would be put in the middle of the table and each person would help themselves to the assorted items. So we all agreed on six entrées and six sides, which were all nicely cut and arranged on top of serving platters placed on rotating roundabouts in the middle of the table. They also gave us a giant platter of mixed olives, varied peppers, dried fruit, Roma tomato slices, sun-dried tomatoes and mini sweet onions with a good assortment of breads and rolls.
We ordered the following with multiple orders of most:
Ribeye
Filet Mignon
Veal & Shrimp
Shrimp
Lobster
Crab Stuffed Shrimp
Risotto
Bacon wrapped asparagus
Salad
Sausage and cheese stuffed mushrooms
Corn
Mixed hand cut fruit
For the kids:
Cheeseburgers
Grilled cheese
Chicken fingers
The host came by to check on us and I asked him to allow two bottles instead of one which he did, total was $81.00 for both with their overinflated prices anyway. Twenty Acres from Clarksburg, CA and Layer Cake from South Australia.
The host also ordered us full Tiramisu and Apple Napoleon cakes on him.
The bill was $542.00 with $442.00 being paid out of my pocket. I also left a $100.00 tip.
Well I think we will make this a tradition! : )
Christmas Day: pancakes, then off to have a Christmas dinner with my brother's family - presumably some sort of beef roast.
Christmas Day. Small gathering with my 2 housemates (brother and friend), my Mother and one good friend who has no family in Vegas. He is a pit boss on the strip, but today, no one holds THAT against him. :) My brother is cooking some steaks and chicken on the grill. Plus there is NFL football on TV. I am not a big NBA guy so Christmas should always involve NFL football, IMO.
Merry Christmas to everyone.

I smashed up a banana and put it in a glass and then added unsweetened almond milk
I added a little bit of sweetener - I didn't want the sugar other than the natural sugar in the banana
it was really good - kind of like a lo cal banana milkshake
I hadn't bought bananas in a very long time
I was shocked at how cheap they were
I got 6 in a bunch for 59 cents
when I saw it come up on the register screen I thought I was back in 1973

49 cents a pound at the gas station; I happened to notice shortly after your post.
They were 39 cents a pound 2 years ago; I understand there has been some inflationary pressure on the market.
Candied sweet potatoes
Asparagus
Au gratin potatoes
crescent rolls
Apple pie and vanilla Tillamook ice cream
yum
I also am still working on Mom's Christmas cookies. It looks like I am the only one eating them and there is still half a tray left. I probably shouldn't mention that because after I posted that I ate too many Christmas cookies yesterday, a member of this forum called me "fat" on another forum. I weighted myself just to confirm and am exactly 2 pounds more than in high school when I played baseball and I was considered pretty thin then. It is amazing what people come up with. lol.
Quote: kewljChristmas Eve. Stayed home. Cheesesteaks from Capriotti's. If I was in Philly this would be considered a lousy cheesesteak, but in Vegas, passes for good. Lol. Cookies and cream ice cream for dessert, watching TV. Was very disappointed there was no sports on TV, like a second rate college bowl game.
Traditionally, the NHL (even before the current COVID-19 problems) and NBA don't play on Christmas Eve. The NHL doesn't usually play on Christmas Day, either, while the NBA makes its first broadcast network appearance of the season; the one exception I can think of is when ABC aired one of LeBron James's first NBA games back in 2003.
The NFL doesn't go out of its way to have games on Christmas Eve, although in recent years, when Christmas Day is on Sunday, like it will be in 2022, it will play most of its normal Sunday schedule on that day.
Reminds me of a trivia question: other than when the NFL doesn't play on Christmas Eve, how many days during the year are there no games in the four traditional major USA sports leagues?
Two - the day before, and the day after, the baseball All-Star Game
Back on topic: today, a 1/4-lb homemade bagel dog for lunch, and some fast food burgers for dinner; it will give me a chance to try out my new Frency fry cutter.
I got the results of my recent blood work today and my AC1 was down by two tenths. I was right at the diabetic level so dropping to 6.1 is huge. According to their records, I've lost 37 pounds since March of 2021. I have it at 32 but either way, I'm pretty, pretty happy! My good cholesterol is still low, but moved in the right direction and two others that were slightly low are now in the normal range.
Quote: billryanTried a cheese wrap today. It's literally thin cheese you use as a wrap. I cooked up abuffalo burger and micro-waved the wrap. It melted into a lump of unattractive goo, but I wrapped it around the burger and as it cooled down it hardened a bit and made it possible to eat the burger with one hand. Only one net carb per wrap so it blows away a hamburger bun.

Congratulations! Health trumps most everything else. You are on your way!
Someone has converted a long-closed local golf course into a Pitch and Putt that opens in the middle of January and I'm going to give it a shot.
They never throw anything out and have way too much semi-perishable food stored for two people. I suppose these things just disappeared at some point while they still had kids at home, so wasn’t an issue then. I know that canned foods stay good forever, but some of this perishable or semi perishable stuff when it’s three years later seems a little sketch.

Here you go from a few minutes ago. No fold just for you, but a pizza omelette!!
Greek olives, mushroom, onions, red pepper, hot crushed red pepper flakes.
Also we had sliced Roma tomato, sausages, potato patties, bagel with cream cheese.
Scrumptious.

Actually, depending on what's in the white sauce, if that's a Diet or Zero-Sugar Pepsi, that's not that bad, depending on what's in the white sauce...or at least it wouldn't be except for the taco shells. It's like with burgers; if you leave out tomatoes/ketchup and BBQ sauce, most of the carbs are in the bun.
Toasted buttered bagel then cream cheese, cold sliced white onions, basil leaves, salmon and hot red crushed pepper flakes. Roma tomato slices.
Yum.
Orange juice and Starbucks iced coffee.

Rub and seasoning. Garlic powder, Chicago steak seasoning, brown sugar with barbecue sauce, bourbon infused liquors.
Potatoes with parmesan cheeses, shredded and powdered.
Corn on the cob and garlic ciabatta bread.
Quote: DRichToday we are trying Culvers for dinner. Neither of us have has had a butter burger before from there. We dont get fast food very often and i rarely order burgers but I will give it a try. I am hoping it is super greasy and dripping as I eat it.

I was in Florida for 30 days. Culver’s 6 of them? Bacon cheese butter burger (double) EVERY time.
it's funny how your really love some food and then you get tired of it
I got a tub of Breyers chocolate peanut butter ice cream - I really loved it up - scarfed it down real quick
then I bought a tub of Breyers waffle cone - I loved that up for a while too
but about halfway thru it I got tired of it - didn't want any more ice cream
now, the last thing in the world I want to eat is ice cream - Breyers or anybody elses

I have to admit it was pretty good for a hamburger. I will probably be at Culvers the next time I have a hamburger (probably a month or two).
Yes sir with an ice cold coke.
Quote: Marcusclark66Hey guys, here is one I forgot to post from the other day. Those are real Coney Dogs, you know with the steamed buns, cheese, mustard, chili meat sauce with no beans, pickles and cold crunchy white onions.

I never understood the pickle on top. For whatever reason, I’d always get the pickle on the side.
