Either way, I’m much more interested in seeing crypto going ham. ;-)

Something to do with Vegas? the WOV forum?

Of course, 'BIG' is relative. Bill might just be thinking of something closer to the forum which I just agreed to buy so that I can ban a few members without due process $:o)Quote: billryanhttps://youtu.be/r3kQlzOi27M?t=6

I read it's by far the worst SW movie yet.
I stopped seeing them in the 80's.

It's been getting okay reviews. Doesn't look like it's really blowing anybody away, though.

Nonsense.
No way it's worse than the prequels.

'Solo: A Star Wars Story' Gets Tepid Response at Cannes
After the Solo screening, one attendee could be heard saying, “I don’t need to see it again. Once is enough.” The French in the audience didn’t seem to get the Disney and Lucasfilm project. At a separate press screening, there were no boos, but only a tiny smattering of applause.

Jerry Lewis isn't in it so of course it got a tepid respinse

How dare they cast a black man as Lando Calrissian!

LOLOLOL
Literally the first line of the article you failed to link:
Quote:Although the film got a four-minute standing ovation, the energy level in the theater was far less than the previous evening's 'BlacKkKlansman.'
A four minute standing ovation. How tepid!
Quote: TigerWuHow dare they cast a black man as Lando Calrissian!
WOW - way to extrapolate that I somehow made a racist comment
Solo is not a bad film, just a relentlessly average one that has no reason to exist except as a money machine. Cobbled together from a script that feels half-formed, there's no sense of fun here, only a pointless succession of scenes intended to move the plot forward. Worse still, there's no sense of Han Solo. How is that possible? How can you turn, arguably, the most interesting character in the Star Wars universe into a complete bore?!?

Nor will ever see. The last SW movie
I saw had a cartoon dog named Jar Jar.
I lasted till his first scene and turned
the channel. I stopped liking movies
made for 10 year olds when I was 10.

And yet you'll devote precious time of your life copying and pasting random reviews about them to try to prove a point. Sad!

Well, you stopped at literally the worst one... haha... that's like selling everything at the bottom of a bear market and never buying back in because you were mad the market tanked.
And do you only watch movies made for your exact age? How do you even determine that? If I'm 40 years old, what are some good movies made for 40 year olds? Should I not like movies made for 39 year olds? And 38 years olds? Etc.?
Quote: ams288And yet you'll devote precious time of your life copying and pasting random reviews about them to try to prove a point. Sad!
You got the one word last sentence. Now just work on your misplaced parentheticals and random capitalization and you've got it!
Quote: ams288There is a large number of angry white dudes online who are mad that the new SW movies keep casting minorities and women in key roles. So when a known rightie like AoS refers to it as "Social Justice Wars," that is what I assume he's referring to. But apparently not?
I harbor no ill will towards minorities or women being cast in Star Wars - after all, what is Star Wars without diversity of life forms, races, genders, etc.
I am pointing towards the political subtexts in these movies (you can find discussions of such all over various blogs and youtube)
There is nothing sad about demonstrating to the forum how a poster arrives at an opinion. I think it is a good way to do it. I usually post a link, or some reason why I say what I do rather than creating it ether. What is wrong with producing a quote from a source?Quote: ams288And yet you'll devote precious time of your life copying and pasting random reviews about them to try to prove a point. Sad!
It also gives you a chance to disagree with the source or topic, rather than the poster.
Hate the game, not the player.
Quote: petroglyphThere is nothing sad about demonstrating to the forum how a poster arrives at an opinion.
When it comes to films, watching the film is usually the best way to arrive at an opinion.

And you had no problem with the cute cuddly teddybear Ewoks in Return of the Jedi?
You definitely wasnt ten years old when that one came out

If you feel like going to a movie, don't you check on revues before you decide which one to go see?
Quote: TigerWuAnd do you only watch movies made for your exact age?
I avoid movies made for kids. Not
too difficult to do.

I was about 30. The only SW I cared for
was the first one. I wanted to do very
bad things to the Yoda puppet.
Unspeakable things..

Not if I already know I want to see it.
I'm seeing Deadpool 2 tomorrow night. I haven't read a single review. I don't care what anyone else thinks, I know I want to see it.
I'm seeing Solo next Thursday. Haven't read any reviews other than the little snippets EB posted. It's a SW movie. Who cares about reviews?
Quote: darkozAnd you had no problem with the cute cuddly teddybear Ewoks in Return of the Jedi?
The Ewoks were brutal. They were going to EAT Han and Luke. And they used literal sticks and stones to attack a military force that was exponentially superior to them.
Ewoks were hardcore. Don't let the "teddy bear" angle fool you...

The Flintstones and Huckleberry
Hound had subtexts? {snort}

Exactly! You know you'll be transported
to your comfort zone, that summer
between 5th and 6th grade. Even if
it's the worst movie ever made, you'll
never know the difference.

Nothing you have posted since then has backed up your original claim.
