Quote: WizardI hope you weren't in too much pain on the way home, Doc, and get past your kidney stones as painlessly and quickly as possible. Please keep us posted on how you're doing. I'm sure a lot of us younger members will be in your shoes eventually, so you are blazing a path here.
I, of course, am still in town. If anyone is up for lunch on Wednesday, we can celebrate Joan Collins' birthday.
About 4 years ago I had them. Was in so much pain that I had to crawl to the car. I got violently sick while making my way to the car. Got to er, doctor finally comes in, asks where it hurts. I tell him, he diagnosis me in 5 seconds, says he will be right back. I am like wtf, he comes in with nurse and they put me on dilaudid IV and the rest of the night was great.
Doc, mine was small enough that he have me the dilaudid, did a ct and sent me home to pee into a strainer. Can't imagine larger ones. Hopefully you drank a bunch of vodka to dilute your system.
There is a comment that I have made a number of times, including to someone on this trip to Vegas. It goes something like: The next shot of liquor I down (or glass of wine, or bottle of beer, or even cup of coffee) will be my first. Ever. Same thing applies to tobacco products. It's just not who I am.Quote: GWAEDoc.... Hopefully you drank a bunch of vodka to dilute your system.
I have been trying to drink a good bit more plain water than usual, and I have been taking two new prescriptions (Cipro and FlowMax) and Extra Strength Tylanol. Once late last week, when the pain was particularly intense and the Tylanol didn't seem to be doing the job, I took a 5mg tablet of oxycodone. Other than that, it has been grimace and bear it. They tell me it's a two-stage process, one to get the stone from the kidney to the bladder and the second to get it completely out of the system. I have not (yet) had any pain I could associate with trying to pass a stone out of that final tube from my body, so I think it is still stuck back there in the kidney without any progress thus far.
A complicating (?) factor is that all in this same week I have also had problems with malfunctioning bowels, a cold (or some other type of congestion), plus the issues of too much travel in the past month, and I'm not really sure what problem is related to each discomfort I have had. Other than the variable and sometimes intense pain (which is roughly zero at this precise moment), the most troubling issue has been intense, almost-continuous, utter fatigue.
Quote: darkozPerhaps as part of spring fling 2019 we can have us go into a casino (any one doesn't matter) with me in my mask. I will play a few rounds of craps and blackjack
You guys will literally see nothing happens. Surveillance wont rush over and ask me if my face is really so ugly it appears im wearing a mask. They wont throw me to the floor rip off my shirt and peel my skin off
It will be quite uneventful. Hopefully i win some money playing craps :)
Did you professionally work in makeup? I remember you said you were in the credits of Ocean's Twelve, and that mask looks fantastic; I thoughts those comments about it being a mask we're a joke until the story about taking it off...

No experience in makeup. Someone else created the mask. They are custom made
I worked in post production primarily

I have over 3000 comics in my collection
Middle of the road on star trek. My mom was the real fan so have enough exposure to get the easy questions correct
What 2 countries have square flags?
What was the name and breed of Prez #43 GWBush's dog?
Where in the world does the material for Curling stones come from?
British Isles, Ailsa Craig (Scotland)
What 4 real life Kings do the 4 Kings in a deck of cards represent?

They won't rush up to you they will just watch and make sure you are not up to anything.
it was a future investment but we ran way better than expected.Quote: DocI have no idea whether any of the non-local members are still in town. I had planned to still be there and fly home this evening on an 11:30 flight. Since I haven't been feeling so well this past week we decided on Saturday to change our reservations and fly home on Sunday. I am very glad that we made the trip to Las Vegas for Spring Fling 2018 and also very glad that we came home early. I was just not feeling up to having the kind of fun that should be part of a Vegas Vacation.
Axel, I am very sorry that I did not get a chance to see you again this year. I hope that whatever interfered with your attending was a very profitable venture.
BTW, with regard to your "explanation" for Romes's thumbs-up gesture, it should be noted that for this event he was accompanied by a young lady with attributes that would qualify her for the kind of entourage I have seen with you at times (if she had any interest in being with you instead of him, that is.) ;-)
Ya, Romes puts on a good show.

Burn victim maybe however..
Is it customary for casino surveillance to assume burn victims are up to something?
As for bomb strapped to me i came in wearing a single long sleeved shirt WITH the top button opened so my neck and upper chest was visible. Someone must have had too many mushrooms that night imagine a bomb was strapped to me
Quote: rxwineDon't you sweat like the devil inside a mask?
Sometimes. Its not that bad
The mask is not to hide my AP moves
I use other players cards for their offers. From surveillance all they see is me putting a card in the slot machine and downloading freeplay like thousands of other guests. Its the easiest AP move to blend in with
The masks purpose is to conceal my identity when a casino is hot for my presence
Its used sparingly.

EDC weekend, so the chances are very high
Good juxtaposition of terms: "EDC" and "high". I recall that young female medical student/doctor that died during the first EDC held in Vegas. Had I been able to make the trip to Vegas this year instead of having to deal with housing issues, I would still have steered clear of EDC.Quote: GlenGEDC weekend, so the chances are very high

Thanks lol
They haven't released the medical report yet, but this year they made 90 narcotics related felony arrests.
If you were there, you'd know it's obviously on Bruce's ;-).Quote: AxelWolfIt's obvious BBB has her hand on his ass and Romes thinks it's Mike.
Someone's getting jelly again, aren't they???Quote: AxelWolf...Ya, Romes puts on a good show.
Event was fun, as always... nice to meet new faces to put to the names. I'm a little sad in the level random trivia bets I made (I should be easy pickings because I don't know who knows what exactly)! FYI, when we say we have a female teammate, that was her. So yes, she's a better AP than Axel ;-).

Yes, I believe I have met her at a previous Spring Fling, though I never had a chance to get into a conversation until we sat across the table from each other this year. I don’t know where all of the razzing that Axel tries to give you got started and whether it is heavily serious or totally in jest. I threw in my earlier comment because I judged your female teammate to have all the visible qualifications of the people that I’ve seen gathered around Axel in the past. I had to ponder whether the two of you might have similar interests.
I just have to tell one more tale about the activities from Saturday night. After the photo was taken and the group headed over to the Golden Nugget, I didn’t want to tote my camera and bag with me. I had parked the rental car on about the fourth level of the Downtown Grand garage and decided to stow the gear in the trunk instead.
Neither my wife nor I wanted her to have to climb those stairs to the car for nothing, and I wasn’t comfortable with sending her on the jaunt across the neighborhood completely unescorted. I asked rdw4potus and Bruce1 to keep an eye on her, saying that I would catch up with them outside the poker room at GN. They were pleased to accept the roles.
Now, anyone who doesn’t know those guys should check back to the group photo. I think those two are in the range of 6’5” to 6’7” with Bruce1 being the taller and rdw4potus having the wider shoulders. I thought my request was akin to assigning her safety to the twin Bellagio goons in “Ocean’s Eleven,” the ones who escorted Danny to the room with no cameras and his encounter with Bruiser.
So I got to GN as quickly as I could, asked for directions to the poker room, and easily found rdw4potus and Bruce1. Except Mrs. Doc was nowhere around. I asked the two “goons,” who looked around and shrugged. They had lost track of her! Now just how difficult should it be for two such strapping gents to keep up with a 71-year-old woman? My confidence in their reliability was significantly diminished.
I searched the gaming floor for about three circuits and finally located her. She had bought in at a slot machine, won some money, and had just cashed out at the ticket kiosk when I found her. We just said goodbye to folks at the poker room and headed back to our hotel.
My recommendation to others seeking security teams: Check the resumes in great detail.

lol I recall them mentioning something about that. I asked where Mrs. Doc was and they said "she came in here with us then we turned around and she was gone." All I have of the account is hearsay =P.Quote: DocI searched the gaming floor for about three circuits and finally located her.
