This guy is probably innocent but you have to wonder why he didn't have a bank account to put the money in. Most likely because he accumulated doing jobs for cash and didn't want to pay taxes on it. I am not going to feel sorry for him. You just don't drive around with close to $100K in car. He did nothing illegal but the risks are too great. He's not a gambler heading toward a play. Keeping a large sum of money in your vehicle to buy used musical instruments is not going to cut it.

https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2017/12/1/16686014/phillip-parhamovich-civil-forfeiture

Phil Parhamovich had been waiting for this moment for a long time. The 50-year-old had spent years restoring and selling houses, cars, and musical instruments, often clocking 12-hour workdays, to save up more than $91,000. And now it was all going to pay off: He would buy a music studio in Madison, Wisconsin, where Nirvana and the Smashing Pumpkins recorded songs — not just fulfilling a dream of owning a monument to grunge rock, but also giving him a space to work on his own career as a musician.

Yeah, the first thing this guy needs to do once this is all sorted out is hire a financial adviser or something, because he is in serious need of some financial education. It also clearly says on that piece of paper he signed that he is giving up the rights to that money. Like, it's not even vague or written in lawyerspeak. It literally says, "I am giving my money to the state of Wyoming."

I mean, the cops are totally crooked here, but this guy also did everything wrong from day one.

Just more government theft on the basis of lame, unfounded accusations. That's all it is.

Coercion?

Good luck with that.

That's how the REAL criminals(politicians) get rich. They steal your legitimate money and property under the guise(bogus law) of "you're a drug dealer until you prove otherwise."

If only people knew their rights and were educated on previous Supreme Court decisions, not just regarding this, but about everything; then all of this would go away. Of course, you cant stop a cop determined to railroad you until he gets what he wants, but 99% of the time, especially now with the Supreme Court Case of US vs Rodriguez, most civil forfeitures done on the road is mostly the fault of motorists being afraid and 'letting' the cops do as they please.

Why did he let the cops call in the dogs? Were the dogs already on the scene prior to the traffic stop? If not, the motorist failed to assert his rights and that the cops had no legal authority to ask him to wait for the dogs to be called. Why was his car searched and why did he get out of the car? Why did he sign over paperwork basically GIVING away his money. Cops just like attorneys and IRS agents are TOLD to lie and mislead you. None of them can be trusted and courts already confirmed that.

You better know your rights today or you will be railroaded the rest of your life. The government is not there to 'protect and serve' you. You still have rights in this country, but its up to you to know AND assert them. Contrary to what most people believe, the government is not your friend and more times than not will NOT be telling you the truth and tell you what rights you have. It's up to you to be more educated than them and not allow them to take advantage of you, sadly.
Any private business open to the PUBLIC (ie. droned out casinos) cannot have a criminal trespass enforced against an individual without GOOD CAUSE (Disruptive or Disorderly conduct). You will never go to prison for being thrown out of a casino for legal advantage play and then returning because it's simply unconstitutional 'as applied' to the individual. 'As applied' constitutional issues must FIRST be raised in DISTRICT COURT (trial court) to have it thrown out. You CANNOT raise it on APPEAL This is the best kept secret in the world of casinos not just in Vegas but everywhere in the country. Thank me later.

We only have to look at your life in the last 6 months or so to see how bad it can get. I mean, look at you... you know all the ins and outs of the law and how to count in the game of Black Jack and your still having problems. Even if one is educated it appears they still get railroaded with Chinese decks and other cheating methods. I have heard you say how you will take down 5 Security Guards. I am waiting for your post on how you beat down 5 Coppers because they will never take you alive. Your post is a lot of Big Talk and I have seen tougher guys than you crumble when faced against The Man. You like to talk about the Mob... it is pretty clear that most mobsters either end up dead, in jail or they get too much pressure from the man and they have to Rat but your right... just know your rights and tell them what they can and can't do and you'll be fine.

Coercion? meh... lets see, pulled over by a guy in a costume with a gun who belongs
to the biggest most violent gang in the US (LE), surrounded by a bunch of his buddies with guns,
threatened and lied to, but don't worry he will get a fair shake
when he go's to court where the judge the officer the states attorney and possibly
his own attorney
are all paid by the state. Nope no coercion any where in there no threats of violence
anywhere.

Its pretty hard to prove coercion when the people threatening you and adjudicating
are all on the same team.
