Eons ago Oprah did a show on this featuring a petite demur young lady who had not only been in and out of rehab programs for years but had a felony level conviction for child endangerment, all of which was known to the agency that sent her.
Probably won't kill the kid but won't make sensible decisions either.

I remember a Nanny who was hired to watch twin babies while their single mother worked. She was caught on camera roughly picking up one baby and roughly swinging him, nearly knocking his small and fragile head into a banister! She then allowed one of the babies to slid off her shoulder and onto the couch as she sat by watching TV like an idiot and didn't immediately pick him up!! The couch he landed onto wasn't that far from the floor!
The mother had JUST installed hidden cameras to see how the Nannies treat her fragile babies and was watching from this atrocious and unprofessional behavior from her job and was shocked and appalled. She begged her boss to let her leave early due to a family emergency which he did and she rushed home and confronted the unprofessional and horrible Nanny and told her to leave before she called the cops on her. The bad Nanny ran for the hills!
The mother thanked her lucky stars that she had JUST installed the hidden cameras and shuddered to think of what could have happened to her twin babies if the hidden cameras weren't there.She said that she found the bad Nanny in the first place by looking up Nannies on an internet list similar to Been Verified and Angie's List and the bad Nanny had 100 percent of good reviews from other satisfied parents who hired her for their babies and children so the mother hired her for her twins thinking she would be a good Nanny based on all the glowing reviews. She was very wrong.

LOL. :D But seriously, hidden cameras are a MUST or better yet, tell them that there are cameras monitoring the house so they know not to pull that horrible crap that the bad Nanny was pulling in the first place. And blindly trusting the 100 percent of glowing reviews of complete strangers online when choosing a complete stranger to watch your babies is not a good idea. There have been reports of people making fake accounts and praising themselves as if they really were the "satisfied" customer/Bribing other people to fake praise the person. It would be better trusting the recommendations of people you know in your real world over complete strangers.
