That's easy. Staying home is what I like to do. I hate traveling and I don't mean just hate, I loathe. it. Inconvenience of getting there, having to sleep poorly in a bed that's not mine. Having to eat food that's usually under seasoned and overcooked. Dealing with complete strangers. The whole thing is exhausting and for what. The whole time I'm gone I only want to be at home. If you live in a place you really like, where you're really comfortable, why would you want to leave. Mark Twain felt the same way about traveling. He hated everything about it, it was one inconvenience after another. He loved being in his own bed so much he usually had the maid serving breakfast and he would stay in bed till noon writing letters or writing articles. He was forced to travel to Europe for months at a time in his later years because he made stupid Investments and he needed the money he got from speaking tours. He hated every minute of it and and longed to be home.

I felt this way even as a kid, I never liked it when we took trips. The anticipation of it was the best part the actual trip itself was always tedious and the destination was always a disappointment. It was never what I thought it was going to be. It was either too hot or too crowded or too boring. And it only got worse as I got older. I think what it is, most people are easily entertained and easily satisfied. They will settle for almost anything and I will not. Cruise ships for example. I know without ever going on a cruise that it would bore me to tears. People even say when they get home that all there was to do to do was eat. I can stay home and do that and eat way better food.

Good grief, who are you. What do you think staying home is if it's not making your own fun. I don't have to waste my time taking trips and spending money and being bored when I have all the entertainment I need right here. Why do I need to go somewhere else for it. Right now I'm going to look up how to make my own beef jerky at home. I'll order everything I need from Walmart and it will be here at 1 p.m. tomorrow. This is great entertainment for me, I'm looking forward to this 10 times more then I would be looking forward to a trip somewhere.

Part about travelling and taking trips is not all about the destination but the experience and adventure getting there which can be fun or uneventful at times, or a nightmare. Iíve experienced it all. Thatís part of living life to its fullest, unfortunately some never get an opportunity to experience it.

That's what I want to do, go on a trip that's so boring I have to make my own fun. Have you thought any of this through? Why do I have a suspicion you're a Millennial.

Did I mention how much I love Walmart? I can hire somebody to go up and down was boring aisles picking out my items then delivering them right to my door? It's like a dream come true, saves me hours a month. And it's great schadenfreude thinking about that person doing something that I hate to do. And I have yet to see a guy as the delivery person. It's always a woman with a name I can barely pronounce.

There are many different definitions of living life to its fullest. For some people studying a subject they love in a library and on the internet is living life to its fullest. For somebody else it might be owning a restaurant or a flower shop. For some it might be traveling to foreign countries staying in crappy hotels and eating food that makes them sick. For me it's staying home most of the time and not wasting my time in boring travel to a place I don't want to be. I traveled a lot when I was young, lived in eight or nine different places including Hawaii. I traveled enough to realize it's not where you go that counts, it's who you are. If you are who you want to be, you can quit traveling around looking for yourself.
