Yes, it's rude, crude, and uncouth, admittedly. Is that a bad thing?
I am tired of reading this thread elsewhere. Yes, I have an acct a year old there, I have not posted.
I would prefer to have this discussion here, here where it is applicable.
Of course you have to refrain from referring to specific body parts of your oponent's mothers/sisters or their functions, or behaviours, or those of your father/brothers for that matter.
Hopefully the topic can be discussed, discussed here.
I'll start the dialogue with a simple question.

The forums are just fine. There comes a point in ALL forums when the membership becomes more educated than not. When this forums started I would guess (yes, guess) there were a lot of people that joined but only a few that knew what they were doing. Over time these educated professionals shared the knowledge they felt they could and it educated the forums, one person at a time. Now, when you have a more educated audience there are less questions that float around. When's the last time you saw a "What's my EV on this blackjack game?" thread? Those used to be EVERYWHERE until people learned how to do it themselves, and it was done over and over on the forums so many times that people started finding those resources and doing it themselves before asking.
We're becoming more educated, which will lead to less discussion, but doesn't mean any forums is dying.

Just a few loud mouths over there who are pissed that they got booted from here because they couldn't follow the rules. Tough! I say.
I agree with your thinking ( and Thanks Romes for your response).Quote: IbeatyouracesJust a few loud mouths over there who are pissed that they got booted from here because they couldn't follow the rules. Tough! I say.
But members here are now posting over there. I would like not to have to read, over there, what could have been posted here.
Larry, Curly, and Moe are not allowed to post here anymore, for reasons that are open to discussion, but are still legitimate reasons within the confines of the rules (I still believe the rules were implemented/augmented/adjusted to make for a better group of Forums). Anyone is allowed to disagree with that POV, allowed here (I think ). Well except for Larry, Curly, and Moe ;-). They can still repeat the same message, repeat it over, and over, and over, and over ad infinitum over there. It's like a broken record ( I know some of you are old enuf to remember records ). Too bad. So sad.
Damnation!
They could have come back already, seems unless you cause trouble you are allowed back, speaking stricty between you and me. I'm glad to see 1BB posting (not Freddy, Freddy doesn't have a clue) and others.
Bring me you're huddled masses, as long as they are halfway ameniable to others, and the other's point of view, they seem allowed here? Is that a 'bad system'?
I've already seen both 'yes' and 'no' to that question.
Hence, a discussion, a thread if you will, might be warranted.
No cussing! ;-)

When so much of what "they " say "there" is distortions, exaggeration, lies, and malicious smears, why do you give this idea more credibility by repeating it here?
I don't think the forum is dying. I think it's quiet for several reasons, including the above. There's an ebb and flow to any conversation. There's recent drama that's mostly subsided. There are people reading who haven't posted recently for whatever reason. And there are people who are busy with other things; summer tends to be slow here, then football season and school back in session brings more participation, along with things like G2E and Raving in the fall.
I think your reservations in starting this were your better angels, but I don't like closing or especially deleting threads, so I'll let this be for a bit. If people have something to say, as always, they'll say it, or the thread will die on its own.
I have to say, in general, bringing arguments, feuds, nasty discussions or links to them from other boards here has not benefitted this forum at all. I would discourage continuing to do it.
WoV held unusually strong for the first quarter.
After the Mid=March drop, it is increasing once again.
Gotcha! That's just a joke 'tween BABBs and me. BABBs, you say bringing this, that, and the other, from other boards has not been good for this group of Forums and I can only agree. It has not been pretty. In spite of the wild accusations and character attacks somewhere else, I think (slow thinker) it would be best to discuss those issues here, rather than there. The opinions there are biased, they cannot speak here even if they weren't (biased). Some of the voices here might be biased, so what is new? I would prefer an honest discussion here, as opposed to a slanted discussion over there.
But hey, hey, it's just 2F
<edit> And BABBs, perhaps you should leave my angels out of it. I do not want to anger them. You prolly shouldn't even mention them, now they are looking towards you, And I get a break for a minute ;-)
People get tired of pictures of multipliers and AP's arguing about who's wiener is bigger and who has more money. I'm still here so must still enjoy it.

what happened to your chicken in a bikini avatar?
The argument made is that the newer members who have replaced the banned or nonparticipating erstwhile heavyweights can't hold a candle to them in terms of knowledge and the ability to post valuable gambling related information.
What says the jury?

I have no horse in the race over there, I wish the site the best of luck.
The best luck they seem to have stumbled upon so far is a thread complaining about this site.
Seems unusual to me, downright comical at times. But that's just me, perhaps.

I seem to recall the wiz, responding to my question about this issue, said to the effect that members' posts on other forums will not be used as a basis to nail them to
Then again, I'd advise anyone to tiptoe very lightly through those tulips: part of the preface of the "rules" at WoV states: "The administration reserves the right to punish any activity it deems disruptive to the forum, whether against these rules or not."
Well, I'd say "no rule against" is not necessarily exactly equal to "no reason not to." I can dance naked on a piano bench in my front yard with Christmas lights in my hair, if I choose. I can do many things, if I choose. I choose not to do most of them. To the relief of my neighbors, my neighbors pets, the ghost of my long departed mother, and no doubt many others. But those unique individuals who actually like that sort of thing absolutely should jump right on in, there; seems an excellent 'alternative' sort of place for a few folk of 'different' tastes to go dive into...Quote: MrVThere is absolutely no reason not to post on that, or any other forum: no rule against it.

Have at it. While it lasts. But. "Wherever you go, there you are." A not very brave or difficult prediction: Folk there who haven't already, will soon find themselves tormented by a disturbing & likely insurmountable problem: They brought themselves along.
I've long been partial to strongly flavored language.
I can relate. I can think of another site (themed as being about supposed professional sports betting - but mostly pretend & buffoonery & posturing & not really) where mama-forker & duck-sicking ash-pole are practically mandatory terms of endearment. And sometimes I'm in the mood. Sometimes, though not often, like about every third Tuesday; but to each his own according to taste & mood.Quote: MrVI post there because the admin let's me curse like a longshoreman.

I miss the waterfront longshoremen's bars in Portland. When they got spiffed & hipped-up with ferns & brass & fake-old was glued-on over the real-thing, with sudden pretentions of being dog-knows-what, seemingly overnight, that contributed more than a little to me leaving your territory in old Puddletown after a good run of 25 years there.

More power to ya, pack marshmallows & git yo fill with a smolderin' piece of fragrant appetizing 'stuff' while ya can.
Umm... not exactly sure what you're getting at but if you can't relate to Mickey and KJ then I probably can't relate well with you. Free speech, including X rated speech, is important to me.
Quote: MoosetonFree speech, including X rated speech, is important to me.
Free speech is underrated.
1. Nobody else's freedom of speech is at issue in anyone's decision whether or not to publish something or someone, not here, not there, not by a newspaper making their editorial decisions, not by a library deciding what they choose to stock. They remain free to speak, and are speaking. They can be heard by those who wish. But none of us ever has an entitlement to get someone else to deliver an audience to us; that would have nothing to do with defending "free speech" other than to potentially violate the free speech of anyone who'd ever be forced to publish something they don't to, forced to disseminate something against their will.
2. Stating the obvious, again. If anyone ever invests a major part of their emotional life and view of who they really are as a human being in something like this web gambling forum, they are not well. Very not well. And in the case of someone who does that, they were not well before arriving and will most likely remain that way after they come to the inevitable end, especially if they are so unbalanced as to remain focused upon it and emotionally troubled by its existence months after leaving it. Again with the obvious: This is a small obscure internet forum, many of the representations of personalities on it are not completely real, some not even slightly real at all, things are said that are made up, sometimes whole elaborate multi-chapter things, things said by some are done to posture to strangers, oddly enough, or even by a few to feel more powerful & significant through underhanded misrepresented communication intended to provoke something, and a fair number of 'people' on it don't exist as individuals at all but are fabricated alter-ego multiple personalities. And what else is new. This is not your family, or mine. It can't be. Your family is your family, as is mine. And if that isn't so good, the only fix for that is to fix that. If someone seeks substitute "loving" (directly quoting someone else's choice of word here - not mine) in this kind of venue, that can never end well. Not here any more than it did before elsewhere for the folks suffering those troubles.
Sometimes it can be useful reading, occasionally interesting. But that's the most it ever can or should be.
Free speech is great until you became target of it. Eventually someone gets targeted then they get very upset and start complaining, hounding and pleading with the the mods for it to stop. At some point it becomes bullying or even worst. The target starts flipping out and sometimes this stuff starts to spills over into real life.
I still think there should be a system in place hidden from the public view where people can opt in or opt out and bash one another all they want, if someone has enough they can just opt out and then be left alone.
They were all for free speech at GF until the KJisgay character started attacking KJ.
I'm not sure why there is a need for over the top BS on a ablin forum. I do think they could be a little more lax here.
There would be no self banning and come back if you wish. Once you were out, you're out, period.Quote: rainmanI would like to pre opt in, bring on the ass kicking.

And then there's some on these forums I happen to know for a fact have been formally adjudicated as cognitively & emotionally incompetent to the degree of being found unable to perform any significant useful activity "due to permanent mental disease or defect." And then some small select number of others I may have personally found to be just incurably malicious creeps who I'd rather find under a crashed propane truck. It doesn't matter. There is no prize to be won or other real outcome at stake.

You alright, dude? Was that intentionally more long-winded than normal?
Who here is mental and how do you know "for a fact"? Have you met the posters you consider mentally incompetent? And I also have to ask because you brought it up, is Drawing Dead just one of your personalities?
Also, have you already been the victim of online bullying?
I ask these questions not intending to hurt your feelings by any means. Just trying to dissolve your post.

I get that some don't think the customer service here is good. I've had, and still have, my issues with favoritism and over-moderation...I can complain, but no one has to listen and the owner or his appointees have the right to toss me if they feel I've crossed THEIR line, I don't get to draw the line. I may be the customer, but this is someone else's store. Arguably, I am not even much of customer of this site in the new business model--the people the site is looking for is the ones who click through to a gambling link; that is something I don't do. I am more like a content contributor with at will membership--it is at my will to stay and the owner's will to let me.
Other than the ability to curse and all, I see no reason to post on the other board. I thought about it, but it is kind of like arguing politics--the guys making the most noise over there are the ones with the largest axe to grind with the owners and mods here. I've read the thread and I still think it is a train wreck. Every decent argument against the way two particular people view this board and the way it should be handled is met with insults and nastiness.
There have been some mistakes made here, in my opinion, and some have gotten out of hand. A Moderator overruling another one on a personal insult is one that really bugged me. The whole QFIT/KEWLJ thing was handled very badly and we lost a guy who contributed a lot but obviously had an issue with QFIT and we kept QFIT, who contributes nothing for years at a time. I think some liberal posters get away with more than conservative ones; that could just be that they are better at phrasing their personal insults than others. There is one contributor, who has not posted here in over a year, who openly insulted people and got away with it; that person also sent nasty PMs.
Overall, I know the rules. I decide whether or not I accept them and how they are enforced here. Management can let me stay or tell me to go. In my life, it matters very little. I like visiting here and discussing things, but stopping today would not change any thing in my world. If it would change any thing in your world, you need to question what the heck is going on in your world!
I want to wish everyone a safe and memorial weekend.
I post this in this thread because there are those that no longer participate here that I would like for them to see the message as well. I know at least a couple of them read this thread.

You started this thread to create drama here, no matter how innocent you made it seem or why you claim to have made it.( Yes I can read your mind). Remember what happen when someone came on and made a what happen to KJ thread?
Obviously you can post whatever you want, I'm not telling you you can't or what to do, it's just and "innocent suggestion."
I'm sure others like this thread as well. I just don't believe the innocent act 2F. If you wanted to start up some drama and bring attention to GF, just own that sh*it and drop the innocent act, because it looks a lot like this.
There is no long or short detailed explanation or defense that will convince me otherwise.
