So the idiots in DC are selling us down the river, swapping the pic of Jackson for Tubman on the $20 bill.

Egad.

Harriet Tubman is a minor historical figure: she does not deserve this type of honor.

Being on a bill is like having your likeness chiseled on Mt. Rushmore: it is reserved for the "greats."

This is a sop, an appeasement, pure and simple.

Oh yeah, like I want to see her ugly puss everytime I spend a twenty: not.

"What, me worry?"

Kinda pissed they didn't bite on my Sacajawea idea. Without her, you'd be Senor Ve =p

It's change for the sake of change, a classic Liberal move. I'm sure Tubman was a wonderful lady that saved thousands, but she comes nowhere close to matching up against the rest of the faces on our currency. I'll posit that the nation's history would have unfolded (roughly) same way without her.

If it were my choice, I'd like to see General MacArthur smoking his classic wooden pipe.

Not a big problem.
Just demand the old twenty in commerce, or ask for tens and hundreds.
Or ask for one with AMS Avatar on it ;-)

I find this whole debate silly.

We all know President Trump will be putting his ugly mug on every single denomination come 2017...

The part that pissed me off is that there are people wasting tax money even debating and discussing changing the picture.

If it must be a Trump, please let it be Ivanka. If it must be a hero of American history, who can say "no" to Sacagawea?

If she asked me, I hope I could say 'no'. But this is a promise I cannot make, I am a weak man in many ways ;-)

Where are you?
Just a guess, Cascade Locks, Columbia River Oregon...

Ding ding ding!

This is also near the Bridge of the Gods. If that sounds familiar, it was as far as the character Cheryl Strayed hiked in the movie Wild. Not sure if she got past that point in real life. The PCT goes all the way to the Canadian border.

I will research the 'bridge of the gods'. I have only been in the Pacific NW once, just to catch a cruise from Seattle to Alaska. I need, I need very much to get back out there.
And why are you there? You 'bout to climb a Mtn or sumtin?

Instead of Harriet Tubman, maybe they should put the female casino manager who confessed to stealing yesterday on the $20 bill. I mean, even that police mug shot of that casino dealer was better looking than Tubman.
So many better men, a few of them friends, are dead. And a thousand thousand slimy things live on, and so do I.

I can sort of understand the "wisdom" of choosing Tubman, as that should satisy both women and blacks.

But if that is the point, why not put the image of one of America's most successful business-people on the bill, one who is both black and a woman?

That picture was taken in 2014. Here is a less flattering Sacagawea picture taken at Lewis & Clark college.

I gotta admit, I got a soft spot in my heart for Sacajawea, and a couple other Native American maidens....

I don't get choosing Harriet Tubman. I guess she checks some boxes as a Black and a woman, but we've had Susan B Anthony, Sacajawea, and Lady Liberty, so it's not like the woman-figure hasn't been so honored. Maybe I just don't know enough about Harriet Tubman. But I bet we'll all be learning a lot more about her now.

I would've liked Jefferson on the 20. Nobody but me (and the Wizard, I understand) seem to use 2 dollar bills.

If it had to be a woman, Eleanor Roosevelt would have been my pick.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.
