Any advice and/or experience with off-site parking for McCarran airport for trips lasting at least a week?

For short trips, I'd park at the airport (heck, I used valet parking for my last 1-day trip.) However, the parking rate of $16 daily maximum plus $1 each additional hour for Long Term and $10 daily maximum plus $1 each additional hour for Economy adds up for longer trips.

For an upcoming 8-day trip, I anticipate the Long Term charge to be $132 or the Economy charge to be $83. I found that several motels in the area sell parking, starting at $6/day, and the lowest charge I could get is $48.

I'm just wondering if the savings is worth it. I feel uneasy leaving my car in an off-strip LV motel parking lot for a week where it could be targeted by thieves. However, is the risk of criminal activity greater than an airport lot, particularly the Economy lot? Both the Economy lot and a motel lot are uncovered and require a shuttle to and from the airport terminal. I don't know if there's really a difference other than the price.

One of the reservation websites I looked at allows customers to leave reviews. Only one review out of the few motels that I looked at mentioned that someone else's car window had been busted and burglarized. The only other complaints were about the wait times for the shuttle to pick them up at the terminal and drive back to the car.

You don't need to pay for parking at a casino. I currently have a car stored on the strip as my building downtown has limited spaces. I go move it to a different spot every couple weeks. No problems.

I wish parking at an airport by me was only $16/day. At O'Hare or Midway it's $35/day. I actually on trips longer than 4 days take a stretch limo to and from the airport because it is more economically advantageous to do so. That said, in Vegas, I would think you could park it at a casino on the strip and play it off as if you are a hotel guest and just cab it to and from the airport. $30-40 roundtrip (tip included) would save you with 3 or more days of having to park your car.

Park at Tropicana or MGM and it is probably only a $12 taxi ride.

Just park it? I've always valeted at mgm for a trip. Longest was 3 weeks.

Edit: I gave the attendant $5 or $10 when I dropped off and I said it would be 3 weeks. They do eventually tow it so its best to let them know how long you'll be gone so you won't be surprised when you get back.
$1700, 18, 19, 1920, 40, 60,... :/ Thx 'Do it again'. I'll try

Free parking at a casino?

Don't get caught.

They could legally have the car towed / impounded.

Interesting.

Except the OP lives in Vegas and they don't service Vegas, yet.

They DO service my home airport, so I may use it for my G2E trip...

Ha, that is another option that I'll consider.

I found a website listing free shuttle service, including a few off-strip casinos that shuttle to the airport. However, the hours are typically morning to evening and my upcoming trip departs and returns late at night.

Another option I'm considering is limo service for round-trip transportation to/from the airport and home. At $45/hr (+$3/hr fuel surcharge and $30 airport origination fee) for a luxury sedan, I was quoted $126 +gratuity. That's about $20 more than taxi fare and as much as McCarran's Long Term parking rates. The benefit would be leaving my car safe at home in the garage and riding in a clean, comfortable car with no delays waiting for a shuttle or looking for a parking spot.
