Here is the first pic of him I've seen:
Oh, the irony!
Pic taken at the Golden Gate bridge, a magnet for suicides.
Quote: Gabes22Having been through a suicide in my family, I believe it to be the most selfish act imaginable. All you do, for not dealing with your problems, is you shift them onto the living who are forced to live with questions about if there is anything they could do to help this person. This person not only killed himself but took 150 others down with him, impacting the lives of literally thousands and thousands of people out there.
Gabes22,
My opinion is different from yours. I also had a suicide in my family, and it may on some level be a selfish act, but I think those in pain aren't thinking about that. They are scared about possibly making a leap into darkness and ending their life. This is the most profound and lonely act one could ever take.
I don't think that strength and fortitude or being more resolved or determined to get your life together makes much difference.
I believe that we all have a breaking point. And when the pain gets too great desperation takes over and tragedy can result. I think some people feel compelled to horrible acts, and people like this need to talk about and feelings and their problems. Holding it in, feeling isolated and alone, this is a recipe for great sorrow.
There's nothing we can't talk about to someone. We may have to word our problems in way that communicates our pain but doesn't alienate us from those who listen and care.
Sometimes just allowing ones self to cry is a great release.
Judging from the picture, this kid is a liberal sissy.

What liberals would want to ban hot air balloons?
As for airplanes, they'll compromise - only planes with electric engines (which, in turn, are charged with solar and wind-based electricity, of course) are allowed. (Seriously, if people like Musk and Branson got behind efforts to develop electric jet engines, and batteries light enough to hold enough of a charge for, say, a Los Angeles-Sydney flight that wouldn't weigh the plane down (ever hear the joke about "Why aren't planes completely made of black box material?" - the answer being, "Because they would be far too heavy to fly"), how long would it take?)

I could have reasonably guessed the first three.

Your fourth qualification contradicts your sixth ;)

As do I, but it doesn't excuse killing 149 other people.
If the facts are as reported, this isn't a tragedy, it's murder.

It's both. It's horrible. And it may not be popular for me to say it, but if there is such a place as Heaven, I hope we ALL make it there.
My guess: he broke up with somebody, had a melt-down over it, and decided to kill himself.
Hey, that happens: it happens a lot, actually.
But not like this clown did it.
A public suicide which incorporated the murder of 150 innocents, done by a coward who lacked the courage to do it "the right way," i.e. alone and without taking others with him.
I don't believe in Hell, but if there were such a place, I'd hope he'd suffer there for eternity.
But there's no Hell: he's just gone, *poof* as are all the others.
Wicked world.
