When McCain picked Sarah Palin, hundreds of liberal journalists poured into the state looking to dig up dirt on her. They really couldn't find much so trumped up any little tidbit they could. She was an outsider republican not part of the good old boy network of the republicans who had controlled the state for decades--the Murkowski crowd. Not only did she not get protection from them they layed in wait until after the election and then poured in on her too. The reason she resigned the Governorship was because she had racked up half a million dollars in legal fees to frivolous lawsuits with no way to pay the debt off. State and national politics is extremely dirty business. Meanwhile she was getting some big offers from the lower 48. Fox News alone offered a million dollars a year for her to be a Fox News contributor.

After she left office the state passed a law making whole any political leader who is cleared of ethics violations. She didn't have that privilege.

I like Condoleezza Rice.
Smart conservative strong woman. I would have no problem having somebody like her a heart beat from the Presidency.
Sara Palin a heart beat away, what a nightmare. There are many smart conservative woman, she is not one of them.

But he did prove his citizenship with his short form birth certificate and this is why every case that came before any court was thrown out without merit even before he got the long form birth certificate and yet he was still constantly asked about it till he released it and even after that people claimed it was faked and he still wasn't eligible. The birther movement had no merit to it and by the time he had released his long form birth certificate it was a joke filled with nut bags and it only got more pathetic from there.

Presidents should be made to answer legitimate questions about their ethics and things of that nature but you cannot entertain every conspiracy theory concocted by the fevered minds of madmen. Again look at it from the reptilian claims of past presidents no one faulted Bush for not releasing DNA test to show it was bullshit and that is because it was a conspiracy theory with no basis in reality. People did expect Nixon to answer for Watergate and that is because those were legitimate complaints and questions about him. Hell the Whitewater investigation of Clinton investments was legitimate. The Birther conspiracy is just that a conspiracy and did not need to be answered with any serious thought.
