I wonder if any casinos are seeking to capitalize on this Achilles Heel of EVs, buy offering charging stations for casino patrons?
Heck, if an EV owner is captive for an hour or two, owing to the time required to recharge, he/she can wile away the hours in the casino.
Looks like a good fit.

That fits gambling alright! life-of-battery vis a vis fuel savings.
But something tells me the typical owner gambles not, otherwise.

I would not be surprised if at least a few northern casinos already have this. A lot of people have engine block heaters (or used to, anyway) on their cars up north, and a lot of businesses have/used to have courtesy plug-ins for them. But maybe not any more, with the price of electricity these days.

Foxwoods - check. Mohegan Sun - check. The Sun has had them for two years, not sure about Foxwoods but it's been a while. A friend of mine has a Tesla and makes use of them.

Our new Casino which starts construction by the end of this year will include charging stations for vehicles. On a related topic, I'm hoping all poker tables will also have USB ports in front of each player for phone charging. Still working on design and features.

Here's a couple results from page 1 that I like:

I've noticed that many have an outlet strip attached to the bottom of the table.Quote: Zcore13On a related topic, I'm hoping all poker tables will also have USB ports in front of each player for phone charging.

Yeah, I'm hoping not to have people crawling under the table. New tables now have it all pre-wired and the USB spots built into the table.

Quote: DJTeddyBearWhat's really amazing is that considering charging stations have already been designed and are seen all over airports and shopping malls, that money-grubbing, resort-fee-loving casinos would do this for free.
You make it sound like charging your car takes five minutes. The casino figures you'll be doing something other than waiting in your car while it charges.
Then again, how do people make sure that, while their car is charging, somebody doesn't just "pull the plug" and stick it into their own car?

I'll trust someone's 120v outlet before I'll trust a provided USB port. Don't know if it's just power, or something nefarious if it's in the USB form.

At Mohegan Sun all charging is handled by the valets only. Always subject to change.

The EV charging stations I've seen have connections that aren't quite long enough to reach a different parking space.
If I were designing a paid EV charging station, I would make the charger stop on disconnect... so someone would swipe their credit card to start, and then it would stop charging (and charging) as soon as it was disconnected from the EV.
