He was the Ugly, Great actor.
Quote: BozMr. Freeze in the old Batman TV show in the 60's.
He had a huge body of work mid-century. The newscasts will do a recap, but he was hugely talented with a broad range. He also had a very full and long life, so Well Done and RIP.
Amazing actor...RIP

I think John McClane used the same line in "Die Hard." An homage to a great movie, perhaps?

No. He was The Bad.
Quote: Lemieux66No. He was The Bad.
I disagree. I am certain he was The Ugly, and Angel Eyes (Lee Van Cleef) was The Bad.

Oh shit! I mistook the two. Yeah you're right.

No worries. He was The Bad (Calvera) in "The Magnificent Seven."

Quote: rxwineOne time someone stole my lunch in the office fridge, and I had the same look.
I'll go you one better. I had Chinese food in 2 takeout cartons in the lunch fridge, and took them out to eat. They were EMPTY! Who has the nerve to steal food from inside their packaging and puts the empty packages BACK??? I was already having a crap day, and finally got a break, and that's what there was, with no opportunity to get more food (we were in lockdown). Grrrrrrr.......never found the culprit.
Wallach was also great in The Misfits. But I think that for generations to come kids are going to get a big kick out of Tuco.

Wow. That's terrible! I've heard some bad office kitchen scenarios, but that takes the cake.
Now, taking the last cup of coffee and not making a new carafe....should be punishable via firing.
Quote: BuzzardThanks Mickey. I was 26 when that movie came out 48 years ago. Still a great primer about religion. Tuco had it right.
Thanks, Buzz. Yes, I think Tuco had it figured out too. Ayayaya wah wah wah. Ayayaya wah...wah..wah. Ayayaya,,,wah...wah...wah....wah. Do do do.

Babs, I think I'm going to order the Good The Bad and The Ugly theme for the ringtone on my android.

I think that's a great idea. I might just do the same. The one I have is boring.
I did have a lot of fun with the Austin Powers ringtones app a couple phones ago, though...might have to find that one again. Yeah, baybee!
I remember the New Yorker review of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly was "I must have missed part one".
I remember the weird music. For a while everyone in NYC was going around wearing a thin Mexican serape and chewing on thin cigars in some sort Clint Eastwood fixation theme.
RIP
One of my favorite scenes in the movie.
"Generosity, that was my first mistake."
"Somehow I don't think you've solved my problem."
"If God did not want them sheared He would not have made them sheep."
Quote: BobcatFor myself, Eli Wallach will always be Calvera, the bandit chieftan in the classic western "The Magnificent Seven." He was not totally evil, he was caring and thoughtful toward his men, treated his foes with a sense of chivalry, and had a belief in God and religion.
"Generosity, that was my first mistake."
"Somehow I don't think you've solved my problem."
"If God did not want them sheared He would not have made them sheep."
AND THIS : Calvera is such a miscreant that he regrets leaving the villagers whose food he keeps stealing enough money to hire their heroic posse. “Sooner or later,” he mutters, “you must answer for every good deed.”
