I just stumbled upon this ad on YouTube and can't stop cracking up. It's for a real product called Poo-Pourri (which is supposed to get rid of bathroom odors).

The girl in this video does an outstanding job, and it's hilarious listening to a cute girl talk about poop with a British accent. LOL!

Just bought a bottle. The name of scent I bought was "Crap Shooter." There are outtakes at the web site. Brilliant commercial; brilliant idea.

It works pretty well. Not much it can do with any associated gasses during the process, but it does what it says it will.

What a hoot of an advert - even if it never makes it here they'll surely show it here sometime on an advert-based TV show. There was also an article in the Daily Mail last month ( http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2424433/How-make-world-believe-poop-doesnt-stink-Poo-Pourri-One-VERY-proper-Brits-hilarious-turn-bathroom-spray-ad.html ) about it, although you can't buy it through Amazon here, yet!

Believe it or not, I was actually watching some old Super Bowl commercials on YouTube, and this one popped up as a related video in the right sidebar. Glad I clicked it! (haha)

I've sent all my friends a link. I think the product is unique along with the ad and also the outtakes are hysterical. I'll let you know when mine comes and if it really does help smother the "asstronaut."

I love how at 1:18 she says "Yes, it is a real product"

Yeah, I was thinking this might be a gag video until she said that.

I was very impressed with one particular aspect of the video. When she was flipping the cards, there was animation on the cards - and the animation stayed in position on the card even as she moved the cards around.

She's Scottish, I think, when the posh-totty accent slips a notch to general well spoken... she might even be from Edinburgh originally, or somewhere on the east coast.

I would say almost certainly Edinburgh. She sounds like the Kelly MacDonald character in Trainspotting.

Yeah, but Kelly MacDonald is from Glasgow... that's at least 50 miles away!

On a related note, why do Americans suck so much at accents? Quite a few British actors can do a convincing American accent, but most Americans do really lame British accents.

Well done. I had a roommate from Cornwall who could pinpoint British accents almost that well.

Dj,

I'm sure with computers it's all changed a lot, but a guy I dated for a while was a professional animator who did very similar things for Sesame Street and SNL at the time. They went in with special paints/crayons and illustrated EVERY FRAME by hand, right on the film. It would've driven me mad, but he was really good at it.

No idea if they still do it that way. I'm guessing they map points on the video image and the computer does the work now.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

British actors and actresses are the best, closely followed by Australians. You'd be surprised how many of our television stars are British and Australian. Check out Hugh Laurie in "Blackadder" and get an idea of his real accent. When Robert Redford was doing "Out of Africa" he wouldn't do a British accent which the character actually called for. Some American actors are in the upper realm (Meryl Streep for one) but those British actors do a lot of theatre andf it shows. They are well trained and, of course, talented.

There is a brilliant show on BBC America "Broadchurch" with David Tennant (a former Doctor Who). He plays a Scottish detective (his real accent). Powerful, powerful show. It is going to be an American series next year with, yes, David Tennant playing an American detective. I am guessing they will change his brilliant co-star with an American actress. My guess is a model-like actress playing it tough. The British actress, Olivia Colman, won't pass with American audiences because she is so normal looking and wonderful to watch.

My Grandmother was from Aberdeen. I am disappointed I didn't get it right.

I have to watch it now... I love Olivia Colman, she's a joy to watch act, and also kinda beautiful in her own way.

For those who found this funny (and I was one of them), they've released a blooper reel for this commercial that has some funny moments. She also does several different accents. And the cows do what cows do best....

I bought the Original Scent but there are about four or five other scents. Even my wife the Beautiful A.P. who hates perfumes thought the scent was quite pleasant.
