Brilliant.

I don't get how unitarity is in question though. I don't view this as an assumed law of nature but as a matter of definition.
The probability of an outcome is the number of times that outcome happens divided by the total number of observations. Thus the sum of all the probabilities must always equal 1, at any point in the observation process.

Can someone explain the point about unitarity better than the article?

I'm not sure, but I think that the new set of equations don't need unitarity like current quantum theory does. They work without assuming it.

I could have missed the point, though, and very badly.
